I have been going to this store for about a year now and have found and purchased several and beautiful items. The merchandise is really good and interesting! No complaints about that. I would have given it 5 stars, honestly. The only reason I am giving only 2 stars is my great disappointment at the attitude of the owner when I went in to hand in a few items for consignment, for the first time in my life. It was the friendly behaviour of the owner - as a buyer - that encouraged me to do so in the first place. Yet to my great shock and disappointment it was like talking to a different person, altogether! It was an attitude of the kind "Don't waste my time" so to speak, very short, dismissive, almost rude, despite the fact that I had followed all the 'rules' she gave me on a piece of paper prior to that. One would expect to get the same kind of politeness and respect either as a buyer or as a seller, especially since the very 'seller' is usually also the buyer! Were this business my client, I would have strongly advised them to pay more care and attention to their customer service. Clients should be able to enjoy the same kind of customer service in either role, buyer or seller and be treated with exactly the same kind of attention, politeness and respect at all times. Treating a client differently at different times is not OK. I understand that we all have our good and bad days, but in business there are limits as to what can be considered as acceptable. I have purchased and consigned with this business for many years now. My last consignment appointment was most horrible. The associate did not even bother looking at the items in the bag or hangers. I was told that these items are not wanted ans she just turned away . No hello, no good bye or any kind of interaction It was the way it was said and I felt very upset on my way home. I will not ever go there to buy or consign, and I would not recommend this place to anyone. After reading the reviews of other clients, I see that they had similar experiences and I know now that my impression was right after my last visit.
