I haven’t studied at Sheridan College, but I did take a full campus tour, spoke with students and staff, and did a deep dive into what makes the college tick. From that experience, I can confidently say Sheridan lives up to much of the hype — especially in the areas of creativity, technology, and practical learning.
🎨 First Impressions
The first thing that hit me when walking around Sheridan was how alive the place felt. It’s one of those campuses where you can actually feel the energy — art installations, student projects on display, people collaborating everywhere. You can tell it’s designed for creativity and innovation, not just lectures and textbooks.
💻 Programs & Expertise
Sheridan is known for its animation, design, film, and technology programs, and for good reason — they’re world-class. I learned that graduates from their animation and digital arts programs have gone on to work for studios like Disney, Pixar, and DreamWorks. On the tech side, their computer science, software development, and applied AI programs are surprisingly advanced for a college environment. They partner with real companies, which means students are actually solving real-world problems instead of just doing theoretical exercises.
🧑🏫 Learning Approach
What stood out to me most was their hands-on learning model. Sheridan doesn’t just teach you — it pushes you to create. Every lab, classroom, and workshop space is built around that concept. You don’t just learn concepts; you apply them. Whether it’s film, robotics, or business, students build real projects and leave with tangible portfolios.
🏫 Campus & Facilities
The campus (I toured the Trafalgar location) is modern, clean, and clearly maintained with pride. There’s a ton of technology in the classrooms, open labs for collaboration, and even small cafés tucked between departments. It feels like a balanced mix of professionalism and creativity — which honestly is rare.
💬 Conversations with Students
I spoke with several students during my visit, and what I heard consistently was: “It’s a lot of work, but it’s worth it.” They described the programs as fast-paced and demanding, but rewarding — the kind of place where you get back exactly what you put in.
💡 My Takeaway
If you’re someone who thrives on hands-on learning, creativity, and innovation, Sheridan is one of the best post-secondary choices in Ontario. Even as an outsider looking in, I could tell it’s not your typical college — it’s a breeding ground for creators, tech minds, and entrepreneurs.
Would I recommend it? Absolutely — especially for people who want to turn skills into careers instead of just collecting diplomas. Sheridan strikes that rare balance between artistic passion and real-world...
Read moreI'm a second semester student and i am currently having a HORRIBLE time here. Lets get started on everything thats wrong about this college shall we?
First of, the staff here. The professors here hardly pass anyone here with a good mark even if you give a 100% effort, the highest you are going to end up with is a measly 75%. I barely scraped by with a 50 last semester along with the whole class who barley passed with the other half dropping out because of them. The professors here are also very egotistical and dramatic, just recently i had one professor who was acting like a total drama queen threatening to walk out of the class because nobody knew the answer to her question. I mean seriously? i thought we were there to learn, NOT expect to know everything without you teaching us. Also, one professor in my program is notable for being a hard marker and giving low marks, apparently to him, more "effort" needs to be put into our work if you want to pass his class. They are very unhelpful here, they expect you to know everything, i've had more help in understanding the workload by my fellow peers then the teachers here, and most of them are very lazy and do NOT use slate, seriously what are we paying these people for?
Now the workload. I expect nothing to be easy, but come on, the amount of work here is a joke and the time given to complete them is not an easy task due to other assignments flowing in from other courses. They try to purposely make the workload here hard like university style or otherwise people would be complaining about the easyness.
Last but not least, THE PRICES! The food court here is horrible, the subway is sloppy and tastes funny and the amount for a pizza is overpriced, seriously this school is notable for being a money grab whether its for food, textbooks or even student loans, paying for car parking is also way to expensive.
Overall DON'T come here if you want to learn or expect to learn something here. The people here are totally reserved and the teachers here are lazy teachers. Humber or Seneca sounds so much better...
Read moreAs an alumni of Sheridan College I spent a long time here between the years of 2010-2015. The beginning was a great experience but everything changed after I asked Mr. Michael Jones for help from the Human Rights and Responsibilities Department at Sheridan College, Brampton campus.
I was being bullied in my program and Mr. Michael Jones made it even worse by telling me that maybe I should just leave Sheridan if I could not handle being bullied. This confused me for a very long time, but after taking many law courses I found out that Mr. Michael Jones was actually guilty of something. In addition, Mr. Michael Jones was unprofessional in terms of trying to help me and he actually called me on the phone to yell at me for no reason when he was drunk. Mr. Michael Jones told me in his yelling voice that he would put me in jail if he was not working for Sheridan College back in 2016 but I'm doing well and I'm enjoying my life so I just wanted to say I do not appreciate a staff member of a college drunk calling me to tell me that they don't like me as a person and that if they could they would have me put in jail. I'm not sure what I did Michael Jones but I am still waiting for an apology from you so that I can come back to Sheridan one day and help teach students as a Student Volunteer. I'm aware I am one person but Health and Safety is important so hopefully everyone at Sheridan is staying safe because they still need to help certain staff in the Health Department as well as the Human Rights and Responsibilities Department. Thank you for your time everyone and I hope to receive a personal apology letter from you one day Mr. Michael Jones because as a scholar I do not appreciate unprofessionalism in the workplace as I also worked for Sheridan as well. I am pretty sure I know my Human Rights as I read all about them at Sheridan College through Library Services but still I hope one day and I pray one day that Mr. Michael Jones finds God and...
