I ordered a strawberry sundae on August 21, 2022. The order was confirmed at 9:14 pm Via the BK app. It was already paid for via credit card in the app. When I arrived to the 1289 Marlborough Crt. location in Oakville Ontario. The front door was locked. This was at approximately 9:20 pm. In store dining at this location closes at 10 pm. There were still some people eating. So why is the door locked? A team member cleaning up came to unlock the door and inform me that the manager has locked the door and I should order via the drive-thru. To my surprise I was confused because I had already paid and I am a pedestrian (clearly). He let me inside anyway.
When the team member seen the order receipt, he tried to explain to his manager that this is already paid for and should be honoured. He as well did not understand why the restaurant was closing earlier than advertised on the door of the restaurant as well as on the BK website/app and Google maps. And kept apologizing. The manager did not apologize once.
She came out to the front counter and gave a weak explanation of how they can’t make the sundae but can offer me a Hershey chocolate pie. And she she doesn’t know why “Uber app and them” allows orders to come through as they start shutting the machines down and clean up at 9:30 pm. Mind you it wasn’t 9:30 yet.. And I ordered via the Burger King app. Not Uber or any other third party app.
When I told her this, she just got mad and said, “Well I don’t know what you want me to do? You either take the Hershey’s pie or not.” I asked for a refund and she said “No. You need to contact the app.” Then she walked off to the back to chat with her colleagues. Blatantly ignoring me.
I’ve never experienced this on any other day with Burger King orders. The app has a cut off time that won’t let you place orders after a certain time for pick up. I’ve order food after 9:30 at this location in the last. This manager is not following the policies of the app and restaurant. I have been robbed by Burger King.
If I wanted a Hershey pie I would’ve ordered one. This manager didn’t consider nor value me as a customer. Doesn’t even care if I’m allergic to the chocolate pie. She showed an egregious lack of customer service and disrespect. The team member that opened the door to me had more customer service skills thanks her. I do not know how this person managed to become a manger of a franchise restaurant. They need to be fired because they are not upholding Burger King’s policy.
Everyone in the restaurant at the time was appalled at how I was being treated. They all strongly urged me to call corporate BK. Because this is wrong on so many levels. Not only was this manager rude they would not make my food that is already paid for and the restaurant should still be open and operating dine-in service. Is that also to say drive-thru customers can’t order ice cream after 9 too?Maybe you need to put that on your windows.
This manager is lazy and wanted to rush home and not clean the machines after closing. They must’ve also been working the evening before because I also tried to order again in person at 9:50 pm and the doors were locked. I’m...
Read moreI don't ever give one-stars, but this is unfortunately well-deserved. I visited this burger King three times, and everytime I had a bad experience. Simply put, the management is rude, unreasonable and slow. On a more important note: Whopper Wednesday is nearly a dollar more expensive at this location. Their only explanation is "That's what it is." But the cherry on top was from my visit yesterday. I ordered a sandwich with added tomato. Burger King doesn't charge for extra condiments like lettuce, tomato, and pickles. But apparently this one does. My cashier punched in extra tomato and everything was fine, but suddenly her manager swooped in and pressed "extra cheese" to charge me for it. I mentioned how I've never been charged for tomato before, but she just exclaims how thats what they do here. So she charges me. Then after an unreasonably long wait for one sandwich, she hands it to me-- and there's no tomato. I tell her there's no tomato, and she starts raising her voice saying I didn't want tomato. I wanted to show her how she charged me for it, but she didn't give me a receipt. She goes to the back, still yelling out about how this isn't how it's supposed to be. Everybody's looking like "what's going on". She hands me back my sandwich quickly and then walked away without saying anything else. I'm not confrontational or anything, but it was a terrible performance on their part. I don't blame the regular employees, I blame the managers. Never has a Jr. chicken with tomato order been so complicated in my years of going to BK. This is one of three stories I have from my experience, and it's more than enough for me to never come...
Read moreI'm rating this based on just my experience of this place relative to the other newer models I've been to in Oakville, Mississauga and Burlington. This is just old. Like maybe 1990's old. While it's clean, the interior looks very dated and feels like I've been transported to the 90s with 2019 prices. The caramel Sundae I ordered wasn't done coz they apparently ran out of caramel, then the funnel cake fries I ordered were too dark vs the pic. Like they cooked it in old oil dark.
They did not have frew Wi-Fi (a must have in any fast food joint these days), nor were there enough outlets for those customers looking to hang out.
The staff were friendy enough, though, but missing that caramel out of stock by the cashier when I ordered was a blow to their inventory management and internal communications.
Plus did I say this place looks old? #sad
Burger King Trafalgar (across Sheridan), at a Glance: Food & Beverage: ⭐⭐⭐ Service (Dine-In): ⭐⭐ Kitchen Service: ⭐⭐ Ambience: ⭐ Value for Money: ⭐⭐⭐ (generally a 5, but their funnel cake fries looked sad and overcooked) OVERALL: 🌟🌟 🤔🤨 Worth a try - Yes / No Worth a return - only if I lived nearby and I craved for their awesome value-for-money Nuggets and other food, sure. But I'd hang out elsewhere if I could. Otherwise, BK Wyecroft or Appleby...
