i was in the market for an under armour winter hat, as a gift for a friend's daughter. hr lash (HRL) came up on a google search, and it was smooth sailing after that.

given that it was a saturday afternoon, i phoned the store to ask a few questions about shipping. i was greeted by the owner, herb lash. he was very friendly, personable and answered my questions in full detail. he wasn't in a rush, yet was efficient in handling the phone call.

even though my order was tiny, he treated me as if i was spending hundreds of dollars. herb provided great customer service that is few and far between these days with companies. ⭐

website for the most part was straightforward to navigate and use. only suggestion i would make is for HRL to indicate who they actually use as a shipping provider (it's canada post) so folks can prepare accordingly.

i prefer NOT to have product delivered to my house because of past theft issues. so it's great when websites offer canada post (i can then ship orders to the post office for peace of mind) or major couriers (purolator, UPS, fedex) that have drop-off locations in case i am not home.

i punched in the order same day, and the hat got shipped out monday from sault-ste marie, and reached my hands (in hamilton) on a wednesday. the hat arrived in proper condition and was as described. the hat as a gift was well received and appreciated by my friend's daughter.

pricing was fair, and the discount provided, helped finance the shipping cost, which in itself was fair also.

it's nice when the opportunity allows, to buy from and support an ontario-based business. sometimes HRL has sales, so folks can enjoy some deals on the company's offerings. HRL has been around for over 100 years, and they should be around for a good while yet, with how they focus on trying to treat customers fair.

bottom line: i would look at HRL again if i was in the market for items that they carry. i would recommend others to shop or at least consider HRL as a clothing store of choice also. 👍🏼

update 👀 february 16, 2024: herb responded to my e-mail this morning, and has added canada post as a defined shipping option on the website. this is excellent; so that customers can get orders shipped to their property or to the...

Unbelievable experience with the workers at this business. Can’t thank them enough for what they did for our wedding party. We originally went to Moore’s on great northern for our suits, after we found out the best man wasn’t going to get his in time even though it was ordered months in advance we hopped over to this place and the customer service was impeccable. We were able to get a very similar suit for a good price, got it tailored the night before the wedding and the owner himself dropped it off at the best mans house the morning of the wedding day. HR Lash came though BIG TIME the day before my wedding. Moore’s informed us the DAY BEFORE that my best man’s suit was not going to be in on time, and did not have anything close to the rest of my groomsmen, as we didn't want him standing out in all of the pictures or being confused for me, the groom. We went to HR Lash right before close and the man there was fantastic. We fixed me and my best man up with amazing suits, brought them to the cleaners himself, got them to emergency hem them and get them ready for the next day, AND even delivered them to my best man’s house himself.
