DO NOT EAT HERE !!! FOOD POISONING!!had a hot dog and some jalapeno poppers around noon on Saturday afternoon, August 13th. Only thing I had to eat science supper the night before. By 6 pm I was dying. Brutal diarrhea every five minutes. Wicked headache, stabbing abdominal pain. The hot dog was great but the aftermath was nothing I would wish on my worst enemy. Totally out of commission more than 24 hrs. and still recovering. So. As an update and reply to the owners recent comments that were clearly trying to discredit my review. I will say that I posted my review 2 days after eating at his "establishment ". A full 7 days after consuming the hot dog, that I specifically ordered raw onions on. I was STILL affected with severe "firehose" bloody, diarrhea and acute stomach pains. My wife , being a retired E.R. front line health care professional, agreed that it certainly seemed like a clear case of FOOD POISONING. The owner points out , in his flippant and unapologetically self righteous way, that you can eat raw hot dogs and not get sick. This is true. What you can't eat is raw onions that were , potentially chopped up with a knife that was potentially used to process , raw and potentially CONTAMINATED chicken. Cross contamination is the easiest way for someone who may, or may not have been trained , and certified, in proper food handling practices. I would also like to point out that the Niagra Public Health system was very prompt in their unannounced site check and subsequent follow up with me , the complainant . They did not at any point durring our conversations, indicate that they felt much less agreed with the owner that I " must have gotten it someplace else " or that they thought I had the flu. It's very likely, that after seeing or being notified of my poor review the owner did an immediate deep clean and dissinfection of the entire trailer before the Health...
Read moreToday i stopped here to eat with some friends. When we arrived the place was not busy until we were waiting for our food. I was the first of my two other friends to order. My friends got their food before me and went to sit at a near by picnic table. I ordered an order of chicken strips and fries, and a regular poutine to take home to my boyfriend. After some time my friends were done their meal and I still had not received mine. People who ordered after me were receiving food. I asked the man who took my order if it was going to be ready soon thinking maybe a mistake happened. The older gentleman said to me in a rude tone “ we are very busy today if you couldn’t tell, and I told you when you ordered you would have to wait” I told the worker i understand and tried to explain that multiple people who ordered after me got their food. Some of those people had ordered the same items I did. The man walked away before I was even finished explaining that. The man then took the next order, and said to the lady ordering in a tone “you are okay to wait right”. The man went to check on my order and I heard the cooking crew explain that they missed it. I got my food shortly after this, after waiting for around 30 minutes. I was disappointed in the fact that I asked a polite question about if my order would be ready soon (because I had a feeling they forgot about my order- which they did) and was treated rudely. I understand fully that things get missed and I would’ve been fine with that had the man not been rude to me. Then my food was rushed being cooked and the fries were...
Read moreI’ve been to Gumpy Grammas many times and food and service have always been great. Unfortunately today was a different experience. My party pre ordered for Good Friday as it was going to be very busy. We showed up a few minutes before the preorder time, paid and tipped. It was very very busy so understandable that there may be a bit of a wait. However, over an hour and a half later there was still no food, for a PREORDER! After noticing there were only a few tables that had ordered and not yet gotten food and many empty tables, my party simple asked how much longer we could expect to wait on the pre order. To which we were very rudely told “Well there’s a wait!”. We advised that we had been waiting an hour and a half for the pre order and were questioned on the time. It should be advised that we were informed when you pre-order every walk in order that was put in jumps infront of your pre-order. Thus it works out to becoming first come first serve and not a pre order. If we were made aware of this in advice we would have planned accordingly and expected the very long wait. To make matters worse, we get home and the order is wrong! We ordered a chicken deluxe and it was a cutlet of some sort. Not sure if it was chicken or pork, was a mystery meat but not what they serve as the chicken deluxe at the truck. This resulted in one family member not having any dinner. There was also a very small portion of fries for the amount of fish that was ordered. Extremely...
