To hike on this trail, you will first need to go to the Black Mountain Lodge to pick up a Back Country Access Day Pass. It was self served.

Then you start the hiking by the Eagle Express Chair Lift. Follow the "BC Parks BAC" green sign. The trail was clearly marked with red poles. Steep uphill for the first 45-60 mins. Snow was hard packed on Apr 4, 2021. Microspikes is sufficient. Some section is a bit slushy. Still feel slippery with the microspikes. But all are manageable.

The loop up top has some flat places and decent view. We have our lunch there. Coming down is quick but put quite a bit pressure on your keen due to the steepness.

Parking was not an issue at all when we arrived...

Pickup a winter back country access pass from guest services, then follow this well marked route to the summit of Black Mountain. Snow shoes for those that need to break trail or during heavy snowfall, or spikes for those content to limit their hike to the well-established boot pack. There are two Black Mountain summit vistas, south of cabin lake at 1217 meters, and north of cabin lake at 1224 meters. Visit North Shore Rescue to learn about safe...

The way to the top of black mountail was a little bit off trail. No sign at all. and it was so cloudy that day. Nothing to see at all. So it’s not worth it.

On my way there, I saw no other people at all. Only me there. And there was no sign showing that it’s the top of black mountain. So i’d rather stay in cabin lake instead of coming up if I knew it before.
