Just a few yards at the entrance , at the left turn, there is a cascade of water along some concrete steps. Next to it is the dry stair case that one can walk up to a hiking trail. There are about 50 steps. Once reached the trail ,it is all flat easy walk along the catchment- named Lo Fu Shan catch water. It is not a popular trail, but for the 4 km trail it can have views of the Red Hill estate, Turtle cove, The Manhattan, American Club, Country Club, the Stanley Main beach. The trail is quite narrow and at time it crosses several streams, meaning one has to be cautious when negotiating these overhanging bridges of only two-three feet wide! At the end of trail, there are a few steep steps down meeting the Stanley Gap road. From here one is advised to take a bus to Stanley Bus Terminus because this section is a highway for cars not suitable for walking. It is a good alternative route to walk in the...

This hiking trail was scenic especially along the reservoir. If the south gate was chosen as the starting point, you would walk upward from one slope to another slope until reaching the private estate, Hong Kong Parkview. There were many bridges along the way where there was no trees to block the sunlight. There were not so many toilets in this trail. No kiosk or...

A flat trail that is suitable for family with young kids. It's a perfect place to deplete their energy while the adults can enjoy the scenic view. This place is usually crowded and it would be nice if there are more sitting area for taking short breaks. Highly recommend to bring sufficient water and light snack if you are up for...
