东南大学 — Local services in Nanjing City

What can I say? I have been studying MBBS in this university for years, the only reason I registered here is because of an agency's utter greed and misleading recommendation, they had a previous financial arrangement of some sort with one of the local Chinese agents and unknown to the poor students in my country, they faked everything about this University so they can extract 1325 USD from each and every student that is willing to register with them, but anyways I digress.

The department responsible for MBBS is complete rubbish, especially for those self paid students, disorganization everywhere, the marks take ages to show up on the school's website, sometimes the website crashes, and the GPA takes even longer to update. The administration themselves have NO idea and I repeat NO clue where the professors are, or their contacts, the vice dean himself refused to talk to me when I had an issue once, because I was "a foreigner" and he didn't care about what problem I had despite me being a registered student in their University.

The teachers, are working doctors, they spend most of their day in the hospital and only come to teach part time, only a handful of them are actual full time professors. So, as a result of that, they are never actually around when you need them, and you end up having 3 different teachers for one subject, sometimes more that only come in the mornings and during some labs to read out of their power point presentations. No explanations given, no elaboration they just read their PPTs and that is it. Also, it might help to know that there are NO books here, only PPts. A lot of the students complained about the horrible grammar that the books had, and the administration's response was to remove the books from the teaching syllabus. Now, you have to buy your own books, which would be useless anyways to pass the school's examinations because everything that comes in exams, is coming from their PPts and sometimes the information is inaccurate or are just in contrast with everything else. The teachers have a very basic level of English, so you can't exactly expect them to understand you.

The coordinators/class teachers are very hostile and rude and you technically have to beg them to do their jobs, instead of helping you, they lash out on you instead. Once, I asked my coordinator a question regarding the scheduled registration time, and her response was to shout at me for asking and tell me that it was not her business to help out, then may I ask why are you even working here? But anyways, that is the normal attitude from each head of department in this university.

Only way to ensure they won't act all snobbish with you, is by buying them a box of cigars and a bottle of Chinese whiskey. Then they might turn a blind eye into your cheating escapades during exams, which btw is the norm here! They might even smile at you.

Overall, this is a distasteful University, It is very obvious they're only ever interested in the 32,000 yuan they can get from each student every year, so they can continue to build and renovate their three campuses rather than caring about the actual quality of the education itself.

I'm only representing the MBBS view point, because there are other majors in this University that I have no idea about. So, maybe they are treated better I don't know. Also, this doesn't mean that every university in China is terrible, there are far more superior once, if you're only interested in doing MBBS, just don't come...
