Haidilao Hot Pot — Restaurant in Nanjing City

Extremely friendly staff, very polite and helpful! The food is excellent, everything is fresh and very delicious. The restaurant is open 24 hours. I would recommend a reservation, sometimes it can be very busy.

While waiting for a table we were seated in the waiting area and treated with water, juice, crackers and caramel popcorn! Beautiful!

However, most of the staff do not speak English. But you can order the food by tapping pictures on an iPad. Also very good for vegetarians, as they offer a wide choice of vegetables. The prices are good, no complaints there.

They have tables in different sizes, suiting up to 8 people. A two-chambered pot is inserted in the middle of your table and you order two different broths. Watch out: the spicy one ist extremely spicy! It will make your lips numb and make you cough!

The other ingredients are brought to you on plates and in bowls and then you cook them in the boiling broth of your choice.

There's also a condiment bar where you can choose from many different items like sauces, chives, chopped garlic, soy beans or tomatoes. These items are also labeled in English, which is quite helpful!

Highly recommended: order the "Kung Fu Noodles"! A master will come to your table and right in front of you whirl around some noodle dough extruding it to 6 or 7 feet in length before putting it into the broth. What a great show!
