I had high hopes for this place after doing some research on well reviewed Irish pubs in the area, but unfortunately my visit was underwhelming. I stopped by on a quiet Sunday evening, and while the service was adequate, it lacked any warmth or engagement.

What stood out more, however, was the cleanliness or lack thereof. The bar mats were noticeably dirty, and the mirrors behind the bar were clouded with grime which made me reconsider ordering any food. not exactly an Irish pub although designed to resemble one, it is mostly populated by British and other expats who live in the area. It resembles a 'local' type of bar and not really the kind of place to make a special effort to visit. The location is also a bit backstreet and tricky to find. The crowd seems friendly enough but I happen to think this pub's reputation is not as good as the ratings would suggest it is. It might get a 5 from most people who go to it in Shanghai but on a real scale its about a 2...

Great Irish pub in Shanghai. It was conveniently located across the street from my hotel (Crowne Plaza Shanghai), which is why I found it. It was very relaxed in terms of the atmosphere and the Guinness on draft was great. They had some dogs there that were friendly as well. I got a burger that was super tasty...highly recommended!
