If you’re a golfer with a handicap of 13 or lower, you’re probably better off heading across the road to Black Rock Beach — you’ll enjoy the sea life far more than the golf here.
I played the course using just a 6-iron, 7-iron, two wedges, and a putter, and still managed to shoot a 76 — and I play off a 9 handicap. It’s a 9-hole course that you loop twice, and the layout doesn’t offer much challenge. For example, playing a 77-metre par 3 with a sand wedge and a single putt just isn’t very engaging.
Unfortunately, the biggest challenge wasn’t the golf — it was avoiding being hit by balls from impatient local members. While waiting for the group ahead, we were repeatedly hit up on by a group of four members behind us, even while we were putting. One ball narrowly missed our heads. I’m sure this was an isolated incident, and most members likely have good etiquette — but it left a bad impression. Sadly, I won’t be returning for another round.
Instead, I found donating to the local SPCA and walking the dogs to Wigmore’s Waterfall a far more enjoyable way to spend my time and money.
This course may suit beginner golfers — but only if it were less congested. As it stands, the risk of being hit by a stray ball is...
Read moreBooked for a game of golf for 5 people as a morning activity before our friend renewed his wedding vows, booked electric carts as well, on the morning we arrived to play we felt so unwelcome it was embarrassing No greeting from anyone when we arrived. Unhelpful lady behind the bar gave out 1 beer as it was the last one of that brand and when we asked for a different brand she basically told us to wait then ignored us, the guy organising the clubs and carts seemed like we were putting him out, and when I asked about the booked electric carts he said they were reserved for the elderly players and carried on pottering around, after nearly half an hour after arriving the one who got a drink paid for it and we said for them to not worry about the golf and went to play mini golf instead Worst experience I have ever had at...

Didn’t feel like it was worth the rate of $150 for two players after she said they’re closing at 4 even tho hours...
