Disappointing and failed to meet expectations. Two problems, the specific guide who said about 10 words during the entire 2 hour ride and the route which consisted almost entirely of roads. The 3 short Beach portions of the tour were great, but we should have stopped for a picture or a view. Everyone was lined up on the beach taking pics of the setting sun and we're leaving on the road before the big event. The bang was not worth the buck. They should consider pre-positioning the horses near the beach to keep the road travel to a minimum. We rode within 300 meters of our hotel. A vastly improved experience for the rider and some excellent marketing and exposure for the tour would be to have the horses at the front door of this specific hotel. Guarenteed they'd...

What a magical place to stay. You’re at a ranch, in the jungle, by the pool and easily at the beach all at the same time.

I don’t know who was friendlier - the staff (from Carrie, her husband, housekeeping and all the ranch hands) or the pets (cats, dogs, goats, chickens and horses galore)!

I could not have found a more perfect place to stay with my daughter. The Treehouse Studio was fantastic for us and had everything we needed.

I highly recommend a sunset horseride and lounging by the pool as well as walking to the river. Be sure to get pictures of the howler monkeys right from the deck!

As someone who used to work on a ranch where we gave guided tours on horseback, I can attest to how well trained and well-taken care of these horses are. They’re ridden in rope halters, as opposed to harsh metal bits connected to reins held by inexperienced riders, but I have a feeling that if you were to take off their halters altogether, they would do their jobs just as well. Our guide, Juan, was so lovely and told us all about the horses and his experience coming from Nicaragua to Costa Rica. We enjoyed a beautiful jungle ride down to the beach, and then got to see the sunset on Playa Pelada...
