When we first moved to the Tamarindo area several people told us about the produce market in villa real.. Located on the main street in town just next to the football field, the Frutas Y Verduras market set behind a large chain link fence and offers plenty of parking for customers.. It’s surprisingly large with a huge selection of produce and a range of other products, from honey and pastries to ice cream and soft drinks.. There’s even a small gardening section with some tools, potting supplies and house plants.. The convenience of the location and the consistency of their selection makes this place a trusted stop on our shopping runs.. But the biggest upside to shopping here has to be the prices.. Some items are literally half the cost here than you will find them at a local grocery or health food store.. The quality is going to be questionable some times so just pay close attention to what you’re buying..
