Terrible Dinner Experience, Terrible Food, Drunk Chefs! Hereâs is the summary of my experience in Bilo Idro. Booked a dinner for 2, upon arrival thereâs no welcoming or greeting on the door, been told your name is on the table find it yourselves, fair enough. Ordered starter of Cold Seafood platter, Langustines in Buzara, Side salad, Main course Grilled fish of Iscorpit & Bottle of Zlatan BogdanuĆa. Upon ordering went down to have a look at the cellar and when we came back to our table we found out our bottle of wine was already opened up ( thatâs mean one thing only, they didnât brought us a bottle of wine instead they fill up one of the empty bottle and brought it up on our table) you never open up a bottle of wine while guests are not on the table. Seafood platter consist of tinned anchovies, sardines, 3 shelled muscles swimming in terrible sunflower oil, octopus is the worst I ever tasted flavorless, tasteless and jarred cheapest olives you could find in supermarket shelves. Could you believe it island is full of olive oil trees and you get served terrible jarred olives, olive oil on table was equally terrible. Croatia is a mass producer of quality olive oil just a quick reminder. Langustines in buzara was full of salt even though we ate them because we were so hungry. When the main course of grilled fish arrived half of it was raw when we asked our waitress to cooked them bit more chefs reaction was oh it was cooked perfect, I wasnât surprised at all because all the kitchen staff including the chef who was cooking the fish while we were dining in there down 2 pints of beer and it was only 18:00pm under 30+ degree heat so you can imagine the rest, plate was consist of soggy chips cooked in oil probably hasnât changed months. We ate the fish and didnât even touch anything else the side salad was equally terrible. I didnât even drank the 1/4 of the bottle of I ordered, asked for a bill and left. Take this genuine review from a another restauranteur whoâs trading thousands miles away from Croatia the other side of the world. Donât take your customers as granted, people are no fool,...
Read moreWe came here for lunch. Ordered Coke and they brought us very watery one. Weird. When we got the food, It was a very good medium steak. The fries on the other hand? Oily and soaky. Also a very small portion for the price. Charged us 2 euros for a shit of mayo. The staff was very rude the whole time. The waiter could speak English in the beginning but then he suddenly switched to Croatian. The menu he handed us contained a lot of misspellings and the drink menu was only in Croatian. We didnt even make any noises or were dressed inapropriately, unlike the table next to us. We then finished eating and was time for payment. The waiter only said âeightyâ and when we got him the money, he said that coke was âon the houseâ but in reality, he charged us for it as well. We paid 80 euros for 2 meals (35 euros each, which is very, very expensive, mayo and 2 unrefrigerated and diluted drinks). The service does not...
Read moreThe harbour has an inner and and outer pier. The inner pier is recommended but has only room for approx. 3 sailing boats (no catamarans). Very professional help at arrival and departure from the staff. If it is windy all boats need to leave in order (last in first out). Electricity and sanitary facilities are available and ok. Be aware thou that there might be problems with the electricity.
The restaurant is located at the pier and upon arrival you can choose to preorder food for the dinner. Staff is friendly and prices are ok. They server their own wine which we found excellent. Everyone in our party were satisfied with the food. They have a quit small menu and some courses were not available to order. There is also a wine cellar located under sea level that you can go to. They accept credit...
