Stunning views of the Andes Mountains. The Teleferico is a slow cable car that takes you up to the top of Pinchincha where there is a lookout area and a cafe. Also, there are basic rooms for hikers to stay in to acclimate before going further up in elevation. This place doubles as a tourist spot and a hiker's base camp. There is an amusement park at the entrance of the Teleferico with small roller coasters and carnival rides. If you travel with children, it is a good idea to spend a time at Volcano Park prior to going up Pinchincha, or better yet, take this tour on day 2 or 3 of your visit to acclimate. The elevation is 15,670 at the top and my young children were easily winded, tired and dizzy so we were unable to spend more than an hour up there taking pictures. I recommend going before the 3 o'clock clouds roll in from the valley (we visited late Nov, early Dec). Take a light jacket or sweater, it will be windy and cool at the top. There is a stunning view of Cotopaxi to the Southeast on a clear day and the quietness at such a high elevation above the busy city is remarkable. This is one of the most memorable places I have...

Given the ease in which one can get stunning views across the Quito valley and--weather depending--down the Avenue of the Volcanoes, this is a 5/5 location. It's a bit of a walk up the hill to the teleferico station so a taxi is suggested. But the $8.50 entry fee is reasonable. If you have an actual Ecuadorian visa (we have a IV work visa) you can get in for the Ecuadorian rate of $4.50. So that's worth knowing. The teleferico trams themselves are stable and quiet and provide epic views throughout their ascent or descent. At the top there are a number of crappy places to spend money, but there are ample trails and vistas in which to enjoy. The hikes are relatively well-documented. Keep in mind it is significantly cooler at...

is a spectacular.

if you like hiking and the mountain is a spectacular place you can do a mountain hike is not complicated, it is a fun link, if you want to reach the Teleferico as it is known in Spanish.

you must take a taxi in my case from the historic center the value was $ 5 and the price of the entry is $ 8.50 this price of the cable car is up and down they do not put a time limit it seems good since you decide the time you can stay up.

too You have extra activities like viewpoints, horseback riding, an attraction but the flames for a low price you can take...

This is worth it! We loved visiting. The cable car itself is a great experience and the views from the top are fantastic. We saw several volcanoes and particularly enjoyed the swings. The cafe is great. The cable car takes 15-20 minutes and rises high so take it easy at the top if you’re not used to high altitude. Walk slowly and drink plenty of water. It opens at 10 and cost $9/adult and $7/child. No under 18-months are allowed, we saw them turn away people with a baby.

Our tour dropped those who were interested in the Teleferico (cable car). This was definitely worth the trip. The cable car costs $8.50 and it takes you up to the viewpoint of Quito and Andes and Volcano at 4100m. The view is unparalleled and at sunset was incredible. Be sure to take your jumper as it is very cold!
