attention cyclists! On our first night in here our bikes were stolen from the camping area. We were bikepacking from Helsinki to Rovaniemi, but due to this our trip finished early. We didn’t find the management of Nallikari helpful in this case, instead the first thing they said was “not our responsibility”. We know that our belongings were our responsibility, but the signs at the gate give a false impression that there is camera surveillance (see image). This is not the case at all. The surveillance is only at the gate, and once you pass you are on your own. I would also like to mention that Oulu is the capital of bike thefts in Finland, and (this was stated by the police “should probably be avoided if you can if you are bike packing”.) The camping site is an open area were there is no surveillance and, according to locals "a real headache". I wish the camping site would be more open about the fact that things are being stolen. Some of our belongings were found from forest (by local geocacher) by the camping site, and there I also found other people’s clothes, shoes, dvd-player, cords and all sorts.. Finally, for the management, I know Finnish culture is really straight-forward, but when working in tourism(which I also do myself) I would personally hope for a little bit more customer-Care, especially after you hear that someone just lost 5000€ bike on your yard along with their personal belongings.

It can be very windy and cold in October.. Pretty place to admire the sea and sunsets.

I will not comment too much because I don't like giving negative reviews. Stayed in a renovated cabin. For Finnish standards both the welcoming and cleanliness were beneath standards. It should not matter if it was off season. If you are allergic make sure you check in with the staff beforehand. What was remarkable is that the lighting in the bathroom was very poor. Black tiles and black (tile)sealing! Have my thoughts about cleaning there especially. I made remarks but staff didn't really care. Wrote it down, not a trace of remorse. The environment is great. Nice beach etc. Except when you are travelling with a dog. They are not allowed on the entire beach! Would be nice to have a section there for our pawdy friends. Added: the 'owners' response actually says it all. Every answer is the same and they are not reading. Very unprofessional and sad. Yes I made remarks. See above. No, they did not care.

Visitors should be aware that there are no refunds given for caravan/tent pitches if you pay for several days but leave early because of endless rain. We had paid for 3 days but left after 1 night when our pitch, tent and gear was soaked by rain, with no change in weather to be expected in the next several days. Staff informed us that there would be no refund of the two unused days, even though their cancellation policy says free cancellations before 16:00 the day before, which means at least one day should have been possible to cancel. If we had known this we would obviously only had paid for one night at a time, since the weather reports were bleak and we didn't know if we could endure the rain. Lesson learned. If we ever come back here (the location and campsite otherwise is great), we will definitely make multiple one day reservations instead of one spanning over...
