Centre Commercial Les Eléis — Local services in Cherbourg

Beautiful interesting architecture but very limited range of shops. I don't know how long it's been open but it feels under appreciated and a bit unloved.

The location is great, being just across the lovely harbour bridge from town centre, and its worth a stroll to see the unusual design but we didn't stay long as the shops weren't of interest to us. A regular Mall with a big Carrefour and an H&M. There are many other smaller fashion retail outlets, perfume and cosmetic shops and sports-wear and sports equipment shops. There is a boulangerie and a patisserie too that serve up sandwiches and pastries; they're located right next to Carrefour. As far as shopping malls go, this is a poor effort. Most commercial spaces are empty and the building just isn't welcoming. Most times I have been there customers were few and far between... Such a pity right next to a nice town centre like Cherbourg. This place is draining commercial capacity from the town making it harder for businesses to survive in the centre whilst apparently not doing well...
