I walked to Aldi with my 2 young children to get some food shopping. We realised when arriving at the shop we had no coins. The shop refused to exchange a 5 Euro note for coins we needed to use their wagons /trolleys. I spoke to the manager who informed me this is company policy. Has the world gone even madder than it is when a company thinks there is a benefit to anyone enforcing a policy like this. If I had not walked to the shop I would have voted with my feet and walked to Lidl 2km away as it happens an elderly gentleman gave me a Euro, witnessed by the shop workers, as he too was so appalled by this treatment of a customer. To this very kind old man I am very grateful and he was a great contrast to this ridiculous situation Aldo were happy to allow.
