The Therme was only ok. Nothing special. We had planned on spending the whole day, but ended up only being there for a few hours. The lady at the front desk had asked us if this was our first time here and we said yes. She gave us no explanation of the system. We went to the first locker room and tried to lock the locker doors and it wouldn't work with the wrist band. Another customer saw our predicament and told us that the number on our wrist band corresponds to the locker number. Why didn't the front desk tell us that? We found another customer in the same predicament as us. The front desk could have easily told us this and the other customers. After many stairs, we found the texiltile free area. It is a small area with a few saunas and only a small pool to soak in. The saunas and the dampfbad were fine. The outdoor resting area was up another flight of steps. What do people with disabilities do? How could they get up to these areas? The outdoor resting area was nice and large with comfortable lounging. But people were smoking everywhere! There was no dedicated smoking area. I didn't stay because it was not relaxing trying to rest and inhaling cigarette smoke. We looked for another resting area. It was only by chance, that I saw a gentleman coming out of an unmarked door, that I found the indoor resting area. Why wasn't there a sign for this room? There were no bathrooms in the textile free area. We did try the pools in the textile area. They were nice, but only ok. The decor was very nice. On the day of our visit, there were not too many Aufgusses (which was a shame). The one Aufguss that we did manage to visit, was nice. I can see where lots of simple improvements can make this a better Therme. I wouldn't spend the money to come back here again. Germany has much better...

The main reception area was nice. The reception area would be a great area to place some directions on the wall on how everything works inside the spa. I think it would save the receptionist, some time answering questions in 3 different languages.
The environment definitely has the WoW factor. Especially in the evening when the pianist is playing music and youâre relaxing in the water or eating dinner upstairs.
Speaking of restaurant, the spa had healthy choices and the food was reasonably priced for the environment. I recommend the chicken salad.
To me the spa was a lover birds paradise . And it certainly reflected that at every pool. In my humble opinion, this is an outstanding spa for couples.
And I think itâs a disaster for a single person, or any chaperones. Everywhere you look, someone is kissing and cuddling and thatâs not bad but if youâre single, youâre not gonna watch and if you are chaperoned on a date youâre going to be frustrated as well.
And if youâre a tourist, youâre probably going to be disappointed as well. Mostly because all of the local love birds taking every jet in every pool. There are directions in German and French throughout the facility. But I didnât find any English directions . With the exception of the food menus at the restaurant. At the restaurant you can ask for an English menu. Seriously I donât recommend this spa for tourist unless you want to watch a bunch of 20 and 30 year old adults French Kissing.
This Spa is a lovebirds paradise. Everything about the Saarland Therme was built for lovebirds. I donât think anybody else is going to be happy here except for Love Birds.
Maybe management should consider changing the Spa name to Saarland...
Read moreFirst visit at this place. We have decided to take a 4 hours ticket + Sauna experience (in German written "Textilfrei", which means nudist place) at 37,50 ⏠each . Place is easy to find, parking is big, building is nice in the middle of nature. Warm welcome from reception with quite clear description. Reception lady informed us that we had also access to nudist area for the sauna. Arriving a saturday evening, we were delighted to see an (unannounced) live jazz band (very good btw) playing near main pool, and a cocktail bar with delicious products. It was enjoyable...if you are not looking for a restful a peaceful place. The place is very clean, even if quite crowdy. After some hours at main ground floor, we decided to try the saunas we paid for. Entry system with key is easy to use. On the door, its mentionned "Nudist" place (at least you are warned). I decided to go naked as my girlfriend decided to stay "textile". we visited some saunas, all nice and cleans. We decided to finish in the small refresh pool, when a "technician" (call it how you prefer) jumped on us, asking my girlfriend to leave the place as she was wearing a swimsuit ! I kindly answered that it was written nowhere that the Saunas option at online reservation (and on the main door) was for nudist "only", and asked for explanation. the Technician answered me a very rude way that he had no time to loose and no answer to give. So be aware...the place looks nice...but you will not get your money...
