Rhein Ruhr Zentrum — Local services in Mülheim an der Ruhr

The reason I give a 4 star is not because it's an amazing mall but because the power of nostalgia works crazy for me. There are several parts that are good, it's got great accessibility and it's well connected by subway and bus. The food court is solid, there is a convenient child fun center, a big cinema and a great bowling alley, so I definitely can recommendfor activities! There is a great variety of shops, mostly from big chains, but there is also a huge Karstadt which has everything. But there are also parts that feel like a ghost town, parts where few people shop even on a Saturday afternoon, especially some parts of the Karstadt. There are also big posters everywhere about how great the future RRZ will be, after some fantasy renovation, but there is no move to do anything of the sort. It just cannot compete well against other big malls in NRW, and the Essen or Mülheim Innenstadt are close by, Oberhausen's CentrO is not that far away either... It's just a sorry state for a once...

Spacious, well maintained, well organized, many shops especially fashion & lifestyle and Aldi of course. It is so large that it is spread across the station. Good to spend time if you have to wait for the train or grab something quick. Our Airbnb was 3 min away from this place and used to love walking around plus doing basic shopping. When i visited it was just after the new year and it was really well decorated. You can hang out with family and friends, click pictures. Sit and relax and basically chill as long as you want. What should i recommend, it is a must to visit for your daily...

Ich bin hin und her gerissen. Zum einen ist das RRZ der ideale Ort um am Samstag gemütlich seine Zeit zu vertreiben und Geld auszugeben, wenn man denn etwas findet. Andererseits hat diese Ruhe und Gelassenheit dort auch seinen Grund. Gefühlt 80 % der Läden sind geschlossen, neue Mieter lassen sich nicht finden. Es scheint einfach nicht attraktiv zu sein hier sein Geschäft zu eröffnen.

Ich war immer überrascht wie lange KULT hier noch dir Stellung hält, musste nun aber feststellen, dass der Laden hier ebenfalls keine Zukunft mehr gesehen hat.

Die Gänge sind teils dunkel und leer. Ein paar ältere Leute schlendern hier noch durch und genießen die angenehme Ruhe des Einkaufszentrums was ich definitiv nachvollziehen kann und auch als sehr positiv empfinde, jedoch müssen wir ehrlich sein weshalb dem überhaupt so ist. Eine wirkliche Freude und Modernität strahlt das RRZ keinesfalls aus.

Es fehlt ein Investor welcher den Schuppen komplett saniert. Die Stadt hat hier wohl leider kein Interesse einmal von Grund auf neue Gelder bereitzustellen. Was aber ehrlicherweise auch irgendwie nachvollziehbar ist.

Vielleicht könnte man in dem Essensbereich anfangen. Dieser ist verhältnismäßig gut besucht, könnte aber auch ein komplettes Upgrade vertragen. Irgendwie ist dort bei den Fliesen, Mobiliar, Gestaltung etc. die Zeit vor 20 Jahren stehen geblieben.

Aber natürlich nachvollziehbar: Wie soll man einen so großen Bereich ohne Finanzspritze überhaupt sanieren? Ein Teufelskreis.

Fazit: Wenn man die Zeit am Samstag ohne viel Trubel rum bekommen möchte, passt das RRZ sehr gut und ein Besuch ist es Wert. Unter der Woche allerdings gäbe es für mich keinen größeren Grund hier hin zu gehen. Da hat das CentrO (leider) sehr viel mehr zu bieten und ist Wochentags auch nur...
