Visited on August 25th. Found parking right away in a sort of enchanted wasteland next to the beach, so far, so good. The beach itself? Let’s just say it’s lively… full of kids, families, couples, and probably someone’s inflatable unicorn drifting out to sea.
The sand is a charming shade of brown and could use a bit of a clean-up. The water near the shore has a distinct greenish tint and some floating debris. Not exactly inviting. But if you swim out 20 metres or so, voilà! Suddenly it’s the Greece you came for.
Right in the middle of the bay there’s a massive inflatable playground, just in case you were hoping for that authentic Mediterranean postcard vibe. It’s great if you’re into plastic structures interrupting your view… the average European tourist might love it.
All in all, I’ve seen much better beaches in Greece and even just around Rhodes. Wouldn’t recommend in August unless your idea of a beach day includes crowds, murky water, and a floating funfair.
Now, for the hidden gem: drive a bit before the official Agathi entrance, and you’ll discover a stunning little rocky cove tucked under a hill with the ruins of the medieval Feraklos Castle. The sea there? Emerald, crystal-clear, and...

Getting there by car is very straightforward. There are only a few hundred meters of off-road driving, which is easily manageable with any type of vehicle.
The beach offers fine sand, unreal crystal-clear water, a large parking area, rocks for climbing and jumping, the ruins of an abandoned fortress on the hill (possibly remnants of a medieval battle), wild goats 🐐, some water sports equipment, a free shower, and an inflatable bouncing castle for the kids. However, there are no umbrellas or sunbeds available.
Unfortunately, there is quite a bit of small litter scattered around. It seems the goats might have tried to eat some human plastic waste, leaving tiny plastic particles all over the beach.
I urge you, please don't ruin this beautiful beach with your personal garbage. Instead, bring a bag and collect some of the trash around your spot.
Just take a look at one of my photos—a small plastic bag, half-full of rubbish, collected in just 5-6 minutes.
If everyone does their part, this place will continue to shine for...
