Serious Dog Attack at Beach - Urgent Safety Warning! While Zalor Beach itself is beautiful, I had a traumatic experience there on January 26, 2025, at around 5 PM when i was walking near the water. As a solo female German traveler, I was surrounded and attacked by a pack of stray dogs who bit my legs until they were bleeding. Most concerning was that nearby beachgoers simply watched without helping - presumably because they were aware of the dogs' dangerous nature. When I sought help at one of the beach restaurants, the Indian staff dismissed my injuries, claiming the dogs were vaccinated and suggesting I simply wash the wounds with shower water - despite my visibly bleeding legs. Fortunately, two British tourists recognized the emergency, helped me get a taxi, and directed me to the hospital in Margao, where I immediately received rabies shots and antibiotics. The doctor informed me that they frequently treat dog bite victims, indicating this is an ongoing problem in the area. I sincerely hope this serious issue will be acknowledged and addressed by local authorities soon. This experience was deeply traumatic for me, and I now feel unable to visit the beach without fear.
