Travellers Rest Beach Shack — Restaurant in Goa

We organized a get together for 50 persons expecting a good Goa beach enjoyment at night time, but I was proved to be totally wrong decision just because we choose Travellers Shacks. Reason being Mr Manoj including his staff was very rude. 2.we booked buffet with mocktails, he provided only one mocktail ( selected by himself) , no one was there to serve the snacks. Poor hygiene, putting ice in to glasss with bare hands. Staff wass very untrained . Whatever you ask him to do example to shift a chair from one place to other , every time you need to go & request to the manage MANOJ to do everything. cutlery was also very limited and not up to the standard. 6 . We paid him approx 1300 for buffet and he save almost 1000per head, by providing below standard dishes and poor service, Hardly we were able to consume food equivalent to 10 person, now you yourself can imagine, how disappointed we were. 7 missing Goan culture totally. Worst Food I have had in in Goa Visited the shack on Zalor Beach with 5 friends and family kembers. We have often visited Traveller's Inn, that about 500 metres inland from the beach, and found the food their invariably good. We thought the place place was an offshoot of "Traveller's Inn" but I sincerely hope not. I don't think the establishment has a cook. The waiters and kitchen help seem to be doing the cooking. The mackerel fry was burnt and had been coated with a weird masala. The chicken noodle soup had an odd smell. The grilled chicken was inedible. The only barely edible dishes were rice and dal. The waiters were untrained and barely able to take orders. The service was excruciatingly slow. The first dish arrived after 45 minutes. The final bill also had an item we didn't order. And the prices here were at least 50% above the "Traveller's Inn" rate. In brief a rip off....

My husband and I opted to try out this shack in February 2024… It was quite disorganized. Upon arrival we were greeted by a waiter and placed our order. 5 minutes later, a second waiter asked for our order, we informed him that it had already been ordered. A few minutes later, a third waiter asked us again for our order… But when a fourth waiter came to our table and asked for our order, I almost lost it! I told him that we had placed our order over 20 minutes before and that he was the 4th waiter to ask, but still our drinks had not been served. It took 30 minutes to get our drinks, and the snacks came 15 minutes after the drinks. I honestly thought that at least a discount should have been given in order to show some appreciation for making us wait so long and for the huge lack of communication between the 4 waiters that...
