Pizhala Bridge — Local services in Kerala

We should thank to the Govt of Kerala, for realising such a (comparatively smaller) project in a wide time span. It took nearly 18 to 20 years !!! for sanctioning and commissioning of this bridge. The sight from this beautiful bridge is awesome. Usually on holidays and SAT, SUNDAYS, people from other places visit this bridge to spend their evenings. This bridge connect the beautiful island PIZHALA to the mainland or the ERNAKULAM City. This is the first bridge in the the proposed ERNAKULAM - North PARUR Highway (22 meter wide). The second is PIZHALA-KADAMAKKUDI bridge (not yet started the work). KADAMAKKUDI is a hot tourist now and Cinema maker's favourite location. The third is KADAMAKKUDI - CHATHANAD bridge, which is already constructed, some 10 years back, but not yet commissioned. People are NOT allowed to use this bridge. For this purpose, one end of the bridge disconnected from the mainland. We can say that this is not Bridge , but an "INSTALLATION', to be added in the next Kochi Binnalae. Actually, if this ERNAKULAM-PARUR Highway is constructed, then people from GURUVAYUR, and MALABAR area can directly enter ERNAKULAM City, without traveling via the congested PARUR...

A very beautiful and peaceful place to spend some time with friends and family. A must-visit spot near Container Road Ernakulam. Not a big tourist location but the views from this bridge is very pleasant.

Good space available near the bridge for parking cars and bikes. I wish the tourism ministry find places like these and bring all facilities to uplift the area and its surrounding as these places have great potential to attract tourists.
