The Merrion Tree Food For Home — Local services in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown

The essence of what a good neighbourhood restaurant should be. For a long time, we have appreciated what the Merrion Tree Bistro offers : great breakfasts and brunches, lunches, coffees and teas. Also, take-out meals of excellent standard. We have before now not managed to sample their evening offering. But, last night Friday 16 November, we booked Dinner and we were delighted. Superb ambience, great selection of beautifully - cooked food. Top class service. Great evening, all of you, we will be back! I opted for the Halloumi with smashed Avocado on Brioche; he chose the Pork Fillet with Plum Sauce. We had lovely Starters of Tian of Crab and Heirloom Tomatoes with Basil Oil. Average food, extremely over priced and an awful attitude from the staff. Lunch and a couple of coffees for three people was almost €80!!!!!!! We queried about buying a pie, the member of staff said he only had a half which was no problem until he tried to change us €12 and very rudely said that if we didn't buy it, then he would have no problem selling it to someone else, as if our custom was of no relevance to the company. You guys have obviously neglected to train your staff to be prepared for working with the customers who you have built...

Amazing food thank you frustrating and upsetting experience. I am 42 year old man that really needed to use the toilet as I have MS and a ridiculously bad bladder, something did not say. But I was told there is no customers toilets, and to ask the shop next door, where I was told they are not insured. I went back to the shop and they said to go to Applegreen and use their toilets, honestly how many people ask to use the toilet beautiful food really upsetting experience. PS thank...
