I had never had the chance to visit Powerscourt G.C.before but my brother in law decided it was time to visit today.I know its early November and conditions aren't ideal but all I can say is I'm sorry I've left it till now to visit. Not knowing either course I randomly chose the West but unfortunately it was closed today presumably because of the current and previous wet weather Ireland has been experiencing. However I received an early morning message advising me that my booking had been switched to the East course at roughly the same time.. if that suited me.When I arrived the young lady in the pro shop was most helpful and told me we could tee off whenever we were ready.Anyway to the course itself I dont know which of the courses is supposed to be the best but all I can say is that the East course is just a fantastic golf course.I thoroughly enjoyed my round and I look forward to playing the West in future.Despite the damp conditions the course is in excellent condition, the fairways are in great shape and the greens just great for November .Credit to the greens staff for...

It's also quite a hilly course for certain holes but manageable to walk.
The 4 rating is given because of the sand in the bunkers (stone hard) - one would expect better sand in a country with sand beaches all around the island. This might be something useful to work on.
The most exciting holes for me were 4, 6, 13 (nice Castle and course view), 16 (exciting Par 5 down the...
