Sugar Loaf Lounge — Restaurant in The Municipal District of Bray

This lounge is gorgeous, it's inside the Powerscourt Hotel on 4th floor. You don't have to be a hotel guest to go there. They serve breakfast till 10am and lunch starts from 12pm. In between, you can get a beverage from their selection. They also have a menu for beers, wines and other alcohol drinks. I was here for a work event and went around 11am to the lounge and ordered a cappuccino and fruit scone. The coffee was great and scone was fresh and super tasty, served with a spread of butter and jam. They were nice to accommodate my request for half a portion. While our overall experience was enjoyable, I must express a slight disappointment with the management. Despite mentioning my partner's birthday in our booking, it seemed that this detail was overlooked, as no special recognition was made. When the pianist began playing "Happy Birthday," we had hoped it was in acknowledgment of my partner's special day, but it turned out to be for another guest seated nearby. This unexpected turn left my partner visibly disappointed.

We have been there for an afternoon tea. Beautiful place. Sandwiches are great but the cakes are disappointing. No taste. Beautiful to see but that's it. The sevise is not great. They brought us the sauces with no spoons and we had ask for them twice. My friend didn't like the cakes and preferred to have another sandwich instead so asked for one only to be refused as they are all pre made. No other luxury place refuse a request like this.
