Der wichtigste Pass in den Dolomiten für die Nord- Südverbindung. Der schönste ist er leider schon lange nicht mehr. Meine Meinung, wie es dazu kommen konnte, stelle ich an das Ende meiner Ausführung. Wer es unbedingt lesen will, kann es ja tun ;-)) Aber jetzt erst einmal zur Passhöhe selbst. Die Berge sind einmalig, die Aussichten sind überwältigend. Leider teile ich diese Meinung mit so vielen Menschen, dass es dort oben zugeht, als wäre durchgängig Jahrmarkt. Na ja. Hat man erst einmal einen Parkplatz gefunden und begibt sich zu Fuß auf den Weg, nimmt der Trubel langsam ab. Wir haben uns entschieden, eben nicht mit der Kabinenbahn auf das Sass Pordoi zu fahren, obwohl die Aussicht von dort sicher noch fantastischer ist. Doch diesen Auswüchsen des Massentourismus und des Ausverkauf der Berge, mochten wir nicht auch noch unterstützen. Gegenüber Richtung Sass Bece, vorbei an der Bergkapelle hatten wir schöne Aussichten und auf dem Höhenkamm angekommen einen grandiosen Blick zum Marmolada. Weiter zum Col dei Rossi wieder diese touristischen Auswüchse. Eine Kabinenbahn von Alba kommend. Eine alpine Skipiste, angelegt wie eine achtspurige Autobahn. Die Autofahrer die aus dem Stau auf der Fahrt hierher ankommen sollen wahrscheinlich nicht den Unterschied bemerken ;-))

Kritik: Wenn sich die verantwortlichen Verkehrs- und Touristikplaner nicht bald etwas einfallen lassen, den KFZ-Verkehr einzudämmen, können Motorradfahrer die Straßen bald für sich alleine haben. Es gleicht einer Rattenplage, wie sich immer mehr dieser "Sportfreunde" in diese Gegend begeben, um die Serpentinenstraßen als ihre persönliche Rennstrecke zu missbrauchen. Ganz schlimm die Motorrad-Rentner und die Möchtegern-Rocker, die ihre Lieblinge auf dem Anhänger über die Alpen gen Süden schleppen. Regenfahrten würden ihrer arthrotischen Gelenke mit Schmerzen quittieren - aaaaaahh. Und dann der Männerschnupfen ;-

Sollte sich nun ein Motorradfahrer gekränkt und entehrt sehen, möchte ich ergänzen, dass es nach meiner Einschätzung ca. 20 % der motorrisierten Zweirradfaher gibt, die ihre Fahrweise den Gegebenheiten anpassen und im Zweifel auch einmal Rücksicht nehmen und vielleicht sogar der Natur wegen hierher kommen. Das bedeutet jedoch, dass 80 % einfach rücksichtlose Armleuchter sind. Es wird gedrängelt und überholt, egal was entgegen kommt. Wer im Weg ist soll auf die Seite. Geschwindigkeit anpassen? Nur dort wo Blitzer stehen ;- Keine Zeit für die Schönheiten der Natur - Kein Respekt - keine Erfurcht. Dazu gehört auf jeden Fall derjenige, der mir feige und geschützt durch die Dunkelheit der Nacht, die Luft aus dem Autoreifen lies. Wie ein feiger Dieb. Etwas übertrieben diese Reaktion, auf meine unmissverständliche Intoleranz seiner Annahme gegenüber er könne seine Karre überall hinstellen. Und jetzt die Busse: Morgens ab 10:00 Uhr, wenn alle ausgeschlafen und ihr Frühstück genossen haben kommen sie. Die Hälfte der Parkflächen sind exlusiv reserviert. Ich meine nicht die öffentlichen Verkehrsbusse, die eh' nur wenige Menschen benutzen (und die Touristikverbände tun auch wenig dafür). Nein ich meine die großen, Doppelstöckigen mit 80 oder 100 Sitzplätzen, die kaum um die Kehren kommen. Und dann lassen sie ihre Fracht frei. Die Sandalenlatscher und die Stöckelknickerinnen. Dann werden sie umgeladen in die Pordoi-Kabinenbahn. Hinaufgefahren und wieder herunter. Am Nachmittag zur Kaffeezeit, dann wieder dasselbe Schauspiel, nur ohne Kabinenbahn und das Durchschnittalter der Insassen nimmt zu.

Bitte, Bitte, Bitte....Verkehrs- und Touristikplaner...das muss doch nicht sein. Das geht doch auch anders. Und wenn euch selbst nichts einfallen will, dann schaut doch einfach mal, wie es die Österreicher machen. Es kann doch nicht sein, dass jeder Depp wann und wie oft er will die Berge hoch und wieder runter rasen darf. Und ihr...

There are several ways up the hill. Take the lift, a trek or an "adventure" trek through a gallery, you need a helm for that and really lot of people are going this way so it is very crowded, go early in the morning. Up there is a cottage, you have to first pay and then pick up drinks and food. No service. Toilete has a nice view ;) if you go up by foot, there was no selling of tickets at the lift station so paid for the ride down at the bottom station. Overall, also suitable for...
