Unfortunately like many places on Miyajima, there's nowhere to refill water bottles and the drinks sold at machines here in wasteful single-use plastic bottles which cannot be recycled. It'd be better to have water/tea dispenser with reusable cups or to allow hikers to fill own bottles.
The snacks sold should also be reconsidered - how about reusable bowls of hot noodles, leaf wrapped rice balls or leaf wrapped mochi cakes.
