It needs to be addressed that the Kadena Commissary seems to be making up their own expiration dates! They are applying different dates by sticker than what’s printed on the packages. Honestly, who does that?!?! These photos are of two products each with conflicting dates. So, we bought them already out of date!
This, coupled with the fact that they are severely overpriced. I get it, this stuff has to be shipped in. However, I am noticing they are bringing in local Japanese produce and hiking up the price quite a bit.
If you’re comfortable going off base, head to San A or somewhere comparable to save money… and peace of mind you’re getting a product within the expiration date. You’ll also get fresher produce, the same produce, but much cheaper 😉
MAKE SURE TO CHECK EVERY EXPIRATION DATE HERE!
Whomever runs the Kadena Commissary should seriously...
Read moreBuyer beware. We grabbed a 9 MEGA roll pack of Charmin on sale for $7.82 from the back warehouse area. When we got home & reviewed receipt, we were charged $14.54. I went back to get price correction as it was pretty significant. I was told the UPC was different. I walked the person back & showed her where it came from. She grabbed another roll. It rang up correct. I was told I had to bring mine back & exchange. I texted spouse to bring but he had just opened & used. So, 4 squares of TP cost us $7. The exact same product but because I apparently grabbed a different packaging, it cost twice as much. I’m not sure how I would’ve known unless I knew I had to verify UPC on package against the sign directly under it. I took pictures & verified when I got home product was exactly the same. They just moved the Charmin bear to the other side of the...
Read moreWhen it comes to “fresh” meats: the “sell by” date is actually the expiration date. The manager let us know that when we came in with meat we bought the day before that was rotted and rank when we went to use on the “sell by” date. They can’t figure out how to plan and stock shelves. They have yogurt for maybe one day and that’s it. They argued with me that they stopped stocking vinegar because “no one bought it for 6 months” when they didn’t even have it in stock for 6 months. Can’t buy products you don’t have for sale. They constantly have coupons out that don’t match the products or quantities so they’re useless. The “rewards” card is a joke. Conveniently the app never works in store and the “clip and save” coupons never pull up...
