A fishing and nature immersion experience combined. My fishing trips with Dane and Tadashi from Seafari were the highlight of my recent stay in the Boso area of Chiba. I was able to truly appreciate the beauty of Katsuura’s magnificent coastline, and was refreshed and energized just being out on the beautiful ocean. Of course, it was amazing to have some success in the fishing department, due entirely to the excellent guidance and support of the lads in charge. While moving to different spots up and down the coast, you can also indulge in some speed and sea spray thrills, seeing the thousands of sea birds cruising along, skimming to top of the water, and also the occasional flying fish. But apart from that, I was really impressed by Dane’s whole approach to creating a fun, safe, supportive atmosphere on board for everyone. As the skipper of course he is clear, decisive and authoritative, ensuring on board safety. He likes meeting people and his goal is to create memorable experiences for those on board. As a “gaijin” who is lucky to have lived here at this beautiful place for 5 years, I sort of thought I “knew” this coast. Seeing it from the sea, not the beach was amazing. Opened our eyes. Dane and his team were outstanding. The tour was both fun and informative. We learned things about the history of the place we never knew. The team are professional and helpful. We were there with ages from 2-84, my mother having mobility issues that were carefully and respectfully catered to. Can’t recommend this team highly enough. My family and I had a great time with our tour guide Dane! We were able to fish, sight see the beautiful coastline, and learned a lot about the wildlife and the history of that area, and also some bonus facts about the United Kingdom. Dane is very knowledgeable, and is a great teacher when it comes to history and how to use a fishing rod. He was also very accommodating when we got a little sea sick, and quickly drove the boat to calm water until we felt better( much appreciated!!).
