One of the most unexpected and delightful finds in Kobe! While searching for a dessert spot on Google Maps, I came across a place selling stroopwafels, not what you'd expect in Japan. At first, I thought I had the wrong city, but no, it was right here in Kobe! I ended up adjusting all my plans just to make sure I could visit this shop while it was open. When we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by a friendly Dutchman who was genuinely surprised and overjoyed that we traveled all the way for his stroopwafels. His excitement was contagious. He even treated us to a coffee flavored stroopwafel and gave us a discount. The selection is unbelievable. So many flavors you wouldn’t even imagine could exist in a stroopwafel. Be warned. It’s almost impossible to choose just one. I will absolutely come back to Kobe just to bring some of these heavenly treats home. They are made with various flavours from the traditional cinnamon, to the Japanese favorite of vanilla, all the way through to interesting creations like Earl Grey and cheese! The cafe is small and 'gezellig' with Dutch paraphernalia and the smell of fresh waffles. You can have one in with a hot drink, or grab a pack to go. They also stock other assortments of Stroopwafel based products, such as granola and cookies, both mixed with leftovers from the baking process.
