Minou Sansou — Local services in Kurume

I've been to this nice onsen quite a few times and have used both the private and the public baths.

Entrance ¥770 for the public onsen, ¥1870 for the indoor private bath (per room for one hour), ¥2970 for the private bath which has both indoor and outdoor baths (per room for one hour). Shampoos provided, you need to bring your own towel. Operating hours 10:00 - 21:30, there is parking.

Pay at the friendly reception and:

Public onsen: you will be given a key for your locker. Go up the path to the public onsen area. The changing area is medium size with the lockers, fans, aircon, hairdryers, mirror and washbasin. Entering the bathing area you are at the indoor area, there are three places to wash up here with a stool, shower head and mirror. The indoor tub is medium to small size, weird shape like a pentagon but with uneven sides. The edges of the tub are of cypress wood and the bottom is made of large stone tiles. The walls are made of wood and one wall is all glass so there is endless natural light and a nice view through the glass. Go through the door for the outdoor tub. There is another door here to another washing area with three places. The tub is big size, made of stones and has stone tiles at the bottom. 3/4 of it are covered with a little room so you don't get the rain, 1/4 is uncovered so you can watch the sky above. There is a really nice view of the surrounding area and mountains, the onsen is elevated on a hill. Many trees and lots of green will give you a nice relaxing feeling. When you finish bathing you have to return the locker key to the reception, just drop it at the little basket next to the booth (you'll see other keys there).

The water (which is the same for all the facilities, public and private) is transparent with no smell.

Indoor private onsen: you will always have fresh new hot spring water only for you as they empty the water after every use. You will be given some coins which you have to put into the little coin box at the small changing area, then the tub will start to fill up with water. It will take just a few minutes for the tub to completely fill up. There are two kinds of tubs depending on the room you got, one with stones and stone tiles at the bottom and one with cypress wood. The walls are made of wood and one side, the one that looks out to the view is one huge window which you can actually open! So there is lots of natural light (and air if you have it open), the view is obstructed a bit from the top of the trees.

Outdoor and indoor private onsen: the best option if you can afford it! The indoor tub is in a small wooden room with glass walls. The tub is small size, square shape, has cypress wood on it's edges and stone tiles at the bottom. Through a door you can go to the outdoor area which is really nice. It's like a big veranda with stone tiles at the floor and bamboo poles at the edge for you not to fall out. The tub is also made of stones, medium size, rectangle shape. The views are beautiful.

All facilities we well maintained and clean. There is also a little cafe attached with food, sweets and smoothies from local products. Recommended for a relaxing stop if you are around.

筑後川の南に連なる耳納連山の中腹にある天然自噴温泉です。 地下1800mから源泉温度50℃の無色透明なお湯が豊富に自噴しています。泉質はアルカリ性単純低張性高温泉になります。 この付近には火山脈が無いので、地下に古代火成岩があるのかも知れません。自噴湯らしく蒸気を使った蒸し釜が3つあります。一番人気は露天風呂付きの部屋になりますが、1部屋しか無い上に人気が高く、内湯のみの部屋を借りました。60分/2500円です。時間になり名前を呼ばれてドライヤーの入った籠とお湯のコインタイマー用100円玉され、貸切温泉に。 源泉を加水せず冷却せずの入れ替え制なので、新鮮なお湯が楽しめます。約5分程度でお湯張り完了しますが、温度調整用の水を加えながら貯めないと、熱くて入れない、という悲惨な状態になります。お湯の勢いが凄いので(最初の10分)、水も全開にするのがコツ。高台にあるので内湯からも筑後平野が見下ろす事が出来て解放感があります。脱衣室にはエアコン、洗面台完備です。アメニティはシャンプー、コンディショナー、ボディソープがあります。シャワーの勢いもまぁまぁ及第です。リターン式じゃないので煩わしさが無いのもポイントです。お湯は無色透明無臭です。ぬるぬる感は余り感じませんが、お湯の質は柔らかい肌触りです。 お湯張りが終われば、源泉が少量注がれます。水量は多くないので、お湯張り時にぬるくし過ぎると温度が上がらないので注意が必要です。お湯は40分間出ます。コインタイマーは60分に設定されており、タイマーが0分になる前に籠を返却します。併設のカフェで時間待ち飲んだ水出しコーヒー(700円とちょっとお高め)、雑味が無くスッキリとした味わいで非常に美味しかったです。久し振りにこんな美味しいアイスコーヒーを飲みました。カフェの窓からも筑後平野の眺めが良いです。軽食もメニューにあります。価格はカレー蕎麦(1300円)とか、やや高めですけど(苦笑)。 駐車場は下に第二、上に第一があり、第一は10台程度止めれます。可能であれば第一が絶対にお勧め。第二に止めると心臓破りみたいな急な坂が待っています。接客はとても丁寧です。支払はクレカ、交通系IC、PayP...

足を伸ばしてお風呂に入りたくて、平日の午後に伺いました!! 福岡市内からは、高速を利用すれば１時間程で着きました。 駐車場は、第１駐車場と第２駐車場がありました。 14時頃に到着して、家族湯が空いているか伺いましたが、15分程の待ち時間で家族湯に入る事が出来ました。

受付を過ぎてカフェの奥に椅子があるので、座って待つ事が出来ます。 少し階段をおりると、喫煙スペースもありました。 『奈』のお風呂に案内して頂き、初めて利用する場合は、丁寧に使い方を教えてくださいます。 その際に100円を頂き、ドライヤーも貸してくださるのでそれを持ってお部屋へ。 今回、内湯のみの家族湯を利用しました。 貸切時間は60分なので、入ってすぐに浴槽に栓がしてあるか確認後、先程頂いた100円を入れてお湯張りします。

コインタイマー式なので、毎回お湯が新しいのが嬉しいです。かなり勢いよく源泉が出てきます。 浴槽は大人２名並んで入れて、足を伸ばせる位の大きさですかね〜。 加水せずに50℃程の源泉が出て来るので、お湯張りの際に水も一緒に入れた方が良いと思いました。 少なめに水を足しましたが、最初は熱くて入るまでに時間かかりました〜。 目一杯お湯が入ると、湯量は落ち着きますが全く出て来なくなる訳ではないです。 湯船に浸かる前に体洗ったりしますが、その時に浴槽から溢れるお湯で足元が温められて心地良かったです。 『奈』のお風呂は木製の浴槽でした。 浴槽内が２段になっており、足を伸ばして腰の辺りまで浸かるところと、１段さがって肩まで浸かるところがあります。 余り長湯が出来ないタイプなので、60分でも時間に余裕がありました。 出る際は浴槽の栓を外してお湯を抜いてから出ます。 芯から温まったので、先程待ち時間に座っていた椅子に腰掛け、冷たい飲み物を飲みながらぼーっと景色を眺めてゆったりとした時間を過ごせました。 また行きたいな...
