Nestled in the valleys of hills beside a stream, this hidden resort has a way of lifting your spirits. Have a snack by one of the private spots beside the river and count the kois, explore the surrounding shops and wildlife. The onsen itself is lovely with an indoor and outdoor pool. When you’re done, treat yourself to a fruity popsicle and mikan juice. The dinner is really a sight to behold. Not sure how it is possible, but the dinner on the second night managed to be even better than the first. The calligraphy activity was nice as well but a little short. We did the morning shrine walk which was a lovely start to the day, although I have to say the meeting point wasn’t quite clear and would have been better set right at the back entrance rather by the river. Nevertheless, the guide provided a nice tour of the local area and provided recommendations for lunch. The only thing lacking in this place is a massage service. Read moreIt was terrible stay. Avoid this place. I stay in here on weekend with my parents.
Services Staff picked up other guests, but not us somehow. Also no departure greeting. Most of staffs in there are like students quality services. They just try to remember what you need to say, but even could not say them correctly. Far far away from my expectation and the price I paid.
Food We have break fast and dinner, and there was no meat at all. Mainly they serve sea food but did not use much local seafood or special sea food like lobster abalone. All daily seafood and frozen I guess. Really really disappointed.
Room It’s clean for sure but beds and pillows were terrible. They used really cheap mattress and pillow. Interiors are also cheap like the sofa.
Hot spring It’s not Kakenagashi and added water. Very normal onsen. Also very small.
Conclusion Avoid. Will not match the money you paid. You can fine much much better places for...
Read moreThe hotel is in a area that few foreign tourists will visit. Thought that it would be quiet and exclusive. However, there are many Japanese visitors staying in the hotel. But there is no tour groups and wont notice the crowd even the hotel is full or almost full. Went to the onsen at 6:30PM and there were only 2 persons there. The second time to the onsen was 8:30 in the morning, the onsen was surprisingly empty. The small river and the onsen street offer beautiful scenery and relaxing strolling. Room is not huge but good enough for 4 persons. Rate including dinner and breakfast is reasonable. Food and service is good. Staffs friendly and helpful. Should stay there for two nights...
