やや雑多ながらも、先史から現代までの流れで貴重な資料が多数展示されており、見応えのある博物館となっている。群馬県指定重要文化財でもある、旧吾妻第三小学校校舎を活用した博物館に場面が移り変わると、床の木の軋む音がする中で過去にタイムスリップしたかのような感覚やノスタルジーも味わうことができる。また、群馬県や中之条町の歴史だけでなく、群馬という地域を通した、ダイナミックな歴史の動きを味わうことができる。高野長英や小栗上野介など、幕末の歴史上の重要な人物の群馬でのエピソードや、浅間山の噴火と天保の大飢饉の関係を通して、江戸から明治への歴史の場面の転換期、点と点が複雑につながっていくような想像力をかきたてられる。 四万温泉や沢渡温泉の帰りにぜひ寄っていただきたい施設。

Although somewhat miscellaneous, the museum is well worth seeing, with many valuable materials on display, ranging from prehistory to the present day. When the scene changes to a museum that utilizes the former Agatsuma Daisan Elementary School building, an important cultural asset designated by Gunma Prefecture, visitors can experience a sense of nostalgia and a time-slip to the past amidst the creaking sound of wood on the floor. Visitors can also savor the dynamic historical movement through the region of Gunma as well as the history of Gunma Prefecture and Nakanojo Town. Through episodes in Gunma of important historical figures at the end of the Edo period, such as Takano Choei and Oguri Kouzukenosuke, and the relationship between the eruption of Mt. Asama and the Great Tempo Famine, visitors can stir their imagination as they connect the dots in a complex way at the turning point of the historical scene from the Edo to Meiji periods. I learned so much about Nakanojo and Agatsuma after visiting here. The town’s fascinating history and story are preserved here. There’s really a lot of information, so much that I will return for a second visit. I recommend visiting for anyone in the area. 6月21日までの企画展として、『江戸時代の先端医療』というものを見られました。“高野長英の門下生と支援者たちの物語”ということで、江戸時代の手術用具や天然痘ワクチンについてなどもあり、かなり豊富な展示物でした。 常設展示も、縄文時代から昭和まで、町がどんなふうに変わってきたか、どんな事があったのかなど、歴史を点で見るのではなく、ずっと繋がった線なんだな、というのが良く判りました。 これで入場料が２００円とは驚きです。是非色んな人に見て欲しいと思いました。 地元出身の鈴木ひでさんというイラストレーターの絵葉書がミュージアムショップにあったので、購入しました。 鈴木ひでさんの資料室もあって、懐かしい雰囲気と景色の、可愛らしいタッチがとても素敵です。 明治時代の小学校を活用した建物という事で、ノスタルジックな空気と、軋む床と、なんだかタイムスリップしたみたいで楽しかったです。 受付のスタッフさんも、とても笑顔が素敵で優し...
