Ito Yokado supermarket's prices have skyrocketed since 7/11 took over. The deli food now costs more than many restaurant meals. This seems to be a recurring theme across Japan - how much can we wring out of our customers? How deep are their pockets? It seems like a relentless attempt to bleed customers dry with extortionate prices. For my part, I won't be shopping here anymore.

Interestingly, I took these photos at 2pm, long after the lunch rush. I observed many people eyeing the fried chicken and other food items, but ultimately bypassing them... in a supermarket, of all places!

My heart goes out to the people who live near this supermarket. Ito Yokado should be ashamed of their pricing. It's simply too high.

EDIT: I now live nearby and I must admit, I appreciate how the prices drop gradually from 20% to 40% after 7pm for items that would otherwise be discarded. Grab the stuff we're bound to lose money on here! 40% OFF, we're throwing it out later tonight!

While I don't disapprove of this business model, I am against the excessive overpricing of products. A supermarket serves a social purpose - to provide food for the general public. It should not be about exploiting the customer. Lately, when I visit here with a budget of ¥500 for lunch, I find that eating at McDonald’s feels cheaper!

Lallaport is always a pleasant experience to visit. This small as many new and interesting shops. I love that they are so many sitting places throughout the mall. That is my main reason why I visit this particular Mall. The staff are friendly and the various shop staff are equally friendly and helpful.
