Lakeside Resort & Cafe AFUMI — Local services in Otsu

We were warmly welcomed by one of the staff members at the nearby train station and they drove us to the camp site for free.

Had an absolutely amazing stay in a dome style tent that’s sound proofed and fully air conditioned, with a beautiful view of lake Biwa.

The amenities were excellent. USB outlets, a really nice kettel for making pourover/drip coffee, a fridge+freezer, super comfy beds with firm matresses with excellent back support, and a nice sofa in front of the dome window looking out over the lake. Perfect to read a book or relax with a cup of coffee, whilst listening to the sound of the surrounding birds.

During the day you can enjoy free self service softdrinks at the bar located in the middle of the camping area, with some alcoholic beverages such as highball, beer, chūhai, umeshu available in the evening, and snacks like nuts and popcorn to go along with it.

Also noteworthy is that each tent has their own fully furnished bathroom compartment next to it, with a private shower toilet, and a great shower with excellent water pressure. Everything was super clean and well maintained.

In the evening the staff went out of their way to put up a campfire at the firepit for us even though it had rained earlier, and it was really relaxing experience to enjoy the outdoor peace and symphony of nature sounds at the campfire.

Overall an amazing spot for a quiet and romantic retreat in the middle of nature. Highly recommended!

It was an excellent glamping experience! Afumi made the stay excellent as details were well thought-through with, for example, the provision of a speaker, a multi-plug-adaptor for charging mobile devices on top of all the essentials. The meals were of good portions, and every detail, from the condiments to the cutlery and crockery, was provided to make the experience of cooking a hassle-free one. I enjoyed building our own fire, and it was icing on the cake to have ample supply of marshmallows to roast over it.

This place was a haven for us for two days where we could work in a quiet, open environment with instrumental music playing from the speaker in the background. And when we got tired, it was just a step out to Lake Biwa for a perfect break.

2022/07/25-26 初めて利用させてもらいました。 エアコンのよく効いているオシャレな部屋。 床材や、小物等にも拘りを感じ、雰囲気良し。 ライト、ランタン、散歩用のしっかりしたサンダル靴、Bluetoothスピーカーや、電気の延長ケーブルなどなど快適な室内空間や野遊びを過ごすための工夫が沢山されていました。 部屋によってはハンモックがあったり、個別の露天風呂などもあります。露天風呂360度目隠しされていて、天井が無いので、星空を長めながら楽しめます。お風呂はカップルで入って丁度いいサイズ。 食事は、ベース値段のラインでお願いしましたが、とても美味。 地元高島市名物の「とんちゃんやき」はとても美味しく、スープ、サラダ、ドレッシングなどなどグランピング施設の食事はわりと"それなり"が多い中、地産地消の食材や拘りを感じ、何をとっても美味しかったです。 ご飯物が大好きな方は、ライスは少なめなので近くから調達してから入ってもいいかと思う。

また中央広場付近で、22時までBARが空いていて、ビール・ハイボール・ワイン、ドリンクバー等飲み放題。ボップコーンも自分で作って食べ放題。 中央広場のバーの隣で大きめの焚火が行われていて、焼きマシュマロ等も楽しめます。 焚き火を囲みながら皆で語らいながら集う事も ちょっと夜風に当たりながら、徒歩10歩の琵琶湖でしっとり散歩したり、語らうことも。 琵琶湖ロケーション含めて素敵な場所です。

あと、アメニティが結構充実していて、めちゃくちゃいい匂いのするシャンプー、ボディソープ、ヘアオイルなど常備されていました。　スタッフの方も新設にしては、親切かつ丁寧に対応頂き、 情報も次の日の方などにもしっかり引き継ぎされていた。

限りなくホテルライクなグランピングが楽しめる場所。 なにか足りなくなってもすぐに買い足しにも行けます。 湖西道路終点から直ぐなのもいい。

外国人の家族なども滞在されていましたし 若い世代の方々で、友達グループで楽しむもよし、バーや焚き火サイトでの出会いや、しっとり語らいながらもよし、 家族子供連れも湖水浴や釣りを楽しんだりでき十分楽しめた。 個人的には自分の部屋の前で焚き火を作って星空を眺めながら お酒飲み放題で語らえたのが良かったな。

もう一度行きたいなと思いまし...
