It's actually quite small compared to other seafood markets in Japan. But it's definitely the place you want to go if you are a crab and oysters lovers. Taking bus from the train station to this seafood market takes about ten minutes and it stopped right in front of the market. Some shops offer seats to dine in right in their shop and you can watch their operation while you enjoy the seafood. At the time I went (early April), the market mostly offers shrimps, crabs, and oysters. Very unbeatable price! Beware of the bus schedule back to station...It could be a long wait. We got a bag of cooked crab legs that were so so sweet , there must have been a couple of hundred in the bag and it only cost us 1000 yen. That was a bit of a bargain. Read moreGreat value of crabs!!!! We can buy and dine on the spot. One recommendation, buy from the shops with most visitor, there is always a reason why they out perform others. We bought from few shops in recent trips, some provide dishes, some only plastic bags. Some provide nice clean scissors, some provide rusty scissors.
