You pick out which size clothes they give to you to walk around in. For an extra 300 yen you can use the hot stone room, you lay on a stone floor with your outfit on and a towel, the room next to it has a cold room with misty air to cool off. To use the onsen you shower at a mini wash area after you leave your clothes in the ladies locker room and take the key. They have several pools to use, some with jets, some with electric shock thing (kinda cool), and outdoor onsens. They have mud masks you can put on and lay down on a slanted stone that streams warm water down your back. It was an extremely disappointing experience. After taking a shower and before entering to the hot bath, the personal asked me to show what do I hide under bandages on my ankle. I said it's a super small tattoo that I covered in advance (I want to mentions I have already been in multiple onsens besides Tsukuba, and everywhere they allow me to enter, some of places just asked me to cover it). But in this onsen the staff behaved like something is wrong with me or like I can spread some diseases, and made me feel frustrated. I usually visit to this spa. At the quality of the hot water of spa , I think it is good. But, if you visit here and also enter to the dressing room (in particular the timing of jammed visitors), you will be exhausted by the wetting floor that was dripped by other visitors. In addition, this spa also treated service of ”frequently points” for visitors.
