Very sad experience from a Nintendo fan. We were really looking forward to visit this new museum.
We had to wait to join the lottery, then wait again for lottery results, then for ticket issuing. Once at the museum, we had to wait in 5 different queues before finally getting in. And all of that to visit a display of their Wikipedia page.
Then the attractions proposed were not really entertaining. Only two of them I must admit were really fun, but again, be prepared to wait in line at least 30min on a weekday.
The most underwhelming part was the shop that was constituted at 90% of mugs, t-shirts, pens and notebooks of the different gaming systems logo... What a missed opportunity!
Also I don't reccomend the restaurant. The atmosphere is awesome, the ordering system is really fun, but the food is below average and overpriced.
Side note, the staff was really great everywhere all day.
I really hope that the museum concept will evolve and improve...
Read moreHarder to get into than Fort Knox and with way less of a payoff. I read the instructions that said no eating inside, fair. So I ate outside the building and the attendants rushed over to tell me I couldnt even finish my sandwich while standing in front of the building. They have heavy security. The upstairs is just video game cases and consoles behind glass. I’ve owned and played every system since 1990 and I was hoping to learn more, there is nothing more. Downstairs you play strange carnival style games, but there’s a LIMIT so you can’t even do it with all your friends. The food is overpriced and just ok. I would not recommend this if you actually are a legit gamer who wants to learn more. I learned nothing new about Nintendo and the staff rush you through and treat you like you’re at the airport. Skip the Nintendo Museum and just go to Universal Studios another day. Very unfriendly. Merch selection also...
Read moreI'm a huge Nintendo fan, I've had every system since the NES, there is some cool stuff here, but I was just left wanting more.
There needs to be more things to interact with and it was missing details, like I went to the bathroom and it was just a bathroom not Nintendo themed.
I get the whole ticket lottery, timing of entry, limited coins to play games, to try and make things available for people to play... but it doesn't work! The place is so crowded and you need to line up again for at least 30 mins to play the cool games.
I spent more time here waiting to get in and lining up than doing anything else.
I hope Nintendo tweak this place to make it great. At the moment it's in a time consuming spot to get to and I don't think it's worth it, just go to the Nintendo store instead, the merch is better at the Nintendo store too.
As it is now,...
