The famous Zao Onsen Snow monsters, quite a site to behold. Totally recommended if you want to see a very unique landscape.
But some things to consider, the way up is via Ropeway and it has two parts, the first part is the climbing one and it's a major bottleneck, I went on a weekend and it staff said it took 2 hours, they were right. The second part is fairly fast and straight forward from the first station to the top where the snow monsters are.

Today, the middle of February, is the perfect day to visit here except for it was incredibly crowded due to China’s new year. I waited at the station at the bottom of the mountain for more than an hour to get on the cable car. It’s so cold and windy on the top of the mountain, so it’s better to wear warm clothes. The trees are very beautiful and unique. The station on the top has a restaurant where you can have some warm food. Btw I got some beer… half of it was foam so I asked the staff to fill it a little bit more. She...
