Yamanakako Hirano Onsen ISHIWARI-NO-YU — Local services in Yamanakako

Not a great experience. Came with my partner in the evening. Not busy there. I purchased an Onsen ticket. My partner wasn't allowed because of tattoos which was expected and okay for us. It was getting dark and cold outside and we asked if he can sit inside to wait for me. Lady showed us a sum on her calculator saying 750 yen. We were quite confused and she stated that he has to pay a fee for being in the building. I asked to show me the sign saying so. There was a sign in Japanese in the entrance, however it didn't state any fee to pay. 750 yen to just SIT inside the building while waiting for me seemed like a joke as the bathing fee is 900 yen. Seemed like some kind of harassment to get my partner out of the building. We asked if he can eat in the restaurant at least but not even that was allowed only with an additional 750 yen. Never experienced something like this in Japan. Onsen itself only ok. Low quality shower products, lack of cleanliness (hair everywhere) and hair dryer only with extra payment. And after the visit I felt like getting a bladder infection, so not sure about the hygiene level...

Ishiwarinoyu Onsen, aka Yamanakako Hirano Onsen in the GPS, offers  segregated baths. There is a modest size rock-lined rotenburo for the ladies and a large size tiled rotenburo for the guys, both with a water temperature of about 42 degrees Celsius.

There are 3 types of indoor baths; a small size cool bath of about 30 degrees Celsius, a centre bath (the largest) with three water jets, and three waterjet baths with headrest with a water temperature of about 42 degrees. Refundable coin lockers are available in the changing rooms. There is a water cooler in there changing room to hydrate oneself after a soak in the hotspring.

To use the baths, go to the frontdesk to make payment of ¥800 pretty adult.

8月31日の11:30に訪問。 温泉への入口と数百メートル手前には案内の看板があり迷わずに来れるかと思います。 最後の曲がり角から温泉までの道は狭いので注意。 温泉に着くと駐車場は2箇所ありとても広いので満車になることは無いかと思います。 ホムペには150台分と記載されてます。

山中湖の周遊バスでも来れるようです。

広い駐車場の割にはこじんまりとした施設。 木に囲まれて富士山や湖は見えません。

開店時間前に到着していましたが、すでに10名ほどの若者が開店待ちしていて、入口の前で煙草を吸っているマナーの良くない若者がいたので、一緒に入りたくないので30分待ってから入りました。 11時の開店直後は券売機が一つしかないため購入する人で混雑してます。

入場するとすぐにカギの無い靴箱があり、盗難や履き間違いを気にする方は入って右手に鍵付きの下駄箱があります。100円リターン式です。

料金は一般の大人で900円 ホームページのクーポン見せると10％引きで810円で入れます。

紅富士の湯と同じで山中湖村民などは半額以下で入れるようです。

中に入ると結構豊富な品揃えのお土産品売り場、少しお値段がお高めの果物や農産物売り場になっていて受付とお土産品売り場のレジは別になっています。

券売機で購入した入場券を受付で見せると奥に進んで中庭を眺めるように右手に進むと風呂場の入口です。

左手には大広間と飲食店があります。 飲食店は事前に券売機で購入してセルフサービスになっています。

お風呂場の更衣室は結構広めの造りでここでも鍵付きのロッカーと、鍵のない棚のカゴに入れるタイプの荷物置き場があります。

更衣室は露天の檜風呂側がガラス張りで丸見えで、しかも入浴される方は更衣室を向いて入浴するため、なんか気になります。 カーテンかなんかで目隠しして欲しい。

更衣室の化粧台は6箇所でアメニティはティッシュと綿棒のみ。ドライヤーもありますけど10月からは有料になるそうです。 その際ドライヤーの持ち込みだと無料でコンセント使用OKになるようです。

風呂場への入口は狭いのが気になります。 内風呂は3人分の寝湯と大浴場、少し冷ための源泉風呂、そして4人定員の小さなサウナがあります。

洗い場は露天に行く通路にあるのと合わせて17箇所。 シャワーは出しっぱなしで使えるタイプです。 アメニティはシャンプーとボディソープ。 隣との仕切りはありません。

露天風呂は小さな岩風呂と大きな檜風呂。 檜風呂はかなり温めの湯温のため長く入っていられます。 露天からの眺望は周りの森くらいしか見えず高い囲いに囲まれてます。

特筆すべき点はどの風呂も高アルカリ性の温泉のため肌がツルツルになりよーく温まります。 本当にお湯が気持ち良いです。

サウナのあとの水風呂が無いのが残念。 約29℃の源泉風呂で涼むしかありません。 それと休むための椅子やベッドもありませんので露天の岩や地べたに座り込んで休んでいる方がいました。

この日は学生さんと見られる若者が多くいました。まだ夏休みだからなのかな？ 常につるんで移動されるので同じ風呂に何人も入ってくるので鬱陶しい、 食堂の券売機で並んで待っていると前の仲間と合流して順番抜かされたりと嫌な思いをしました。 ツレの方の女湯でも露天風呂が占拠されてたり大きな声で会話していて煩く気分を害して早々に風呂から退却したそうです。

これが無ければ完璧で☆5つでした。

まぁこちらの温泉施設の責任では無いんですけど、場所的に学生さんが来やすいところなのでしょうかね。運が悪かったです。
