Great place to attend Zazen and meditate. The participation fee is reasonable. I liked the tea break with Japanese green tea and traditional sweets. I really felt so calm and relaxed after leaving the temple.

源頼朝公に信頼厚かった畠山重忠公により、元は鎌倉市の鎌倉宮の敷地を境内として開かれた由緒有る臨済禅寺。 後に現在地に移転して来たが、周辺は畠山重保公の御廟も有るなど鎌倉初期に畠山家所領だった可能性がある。 今では静かな良い御寺♪
