Andrew our magical tour guide made the tour so interesting, informative and he has a real interest in what he is doing and he is able to get others interested. I would highly recommend Kolsai Tour to everyone interested in Kazakh history and also to anyone who loves to see photogenic abandoned areas of an amazing natures. Andrew not only gave you the typical history lesson (dates and numbers) but also personalized it so you could feel the anxiety, fear and excitement. It was awesome!!! So much more than I ever thought it could be. Andrew as a tour guy was one of the most interesting person I have ever met. Great attitude, happy, friendly and an immense amount of knowledge about the area, wildlife, history, indigenous culture etc and moreover Andrew is skilled photographer who will advice, guide and capture your such pictures which will dropped your jaws down.

Great time...something unusual, informative, amazing to feel so close to a part of history, the scenery was beautiful and it was a relieve to walk in such a quiet and peaceful environment.

You and this trip will be etched out in our memories forever. Even after coming back from our trip, I cannot get your jokes out of my mind. We did not feel like we were vacationers in the region. Originally, the idea was to rent a car and drive around Almaty for a few days – but that would be a mistake ! Bad roads – many are gravel, difficult to communicate outside Almaty, no trail markings in national parks, no internet in many places! We would be lost! Luckily, we finally chose the company Kolsai Tour Almaty - and their offer on the website - GOLDEN RING OF ZHETSU with all-inclusive services (driver, accommodation, with all entrances, meal, etc.). It´s a 5 days tour, but it can show you all (different) beauties between Almaty and the Chinese border. The tour was quite expensive, but it definitely was worth such price! We have seen so many nice places! Our guide Natalia was very experienced, easy to communicate in English, keen to show us as much as possible! Professional attitude, active, really excellent driver on bad roads and even in narrow canyon ! We tried different types of accommodation – from local guesthouses with friendly owners (with local home-made cooking) to Hot Spring Resort (near Chinees border). Don´t expect 3* or 4* hotel with all the services, but on the contrary, this trip was something special, giving us the possibility to see inside the local life. Incredible trip - several nice lakes (Kindly, Kolsay), beautiful mountains, several canyons (Charyn, Moon, Bestmak), Sand Dunes, Mineral Hot Spring Resort with relaxing pools, different churches, various local meals, from small villages to bigger city of Zharkent (Jarkent) – this all compressed to 5 days!

Andrey and Kirill truly exemplified what it means to be exceptional hosts during our unforgettable trip to Kazakhstan. Andrey meticulously designed a deeply personalized and authentically local itinerary for our family of six, ensuring that every moment was filled with warmth and connection to the culture. Their vehicles were not only fully equipped but also incredibly comfortable, making our travels seamless and enjoyable.

We were delighted to savour barbecues and tea in hidden spots, each setup beautifully and with thoughtfulness, which made our dining experiences all the more special.

As an added bonus for all the food enthusiasts out there, both Andrey and Kirill are not only incredible chefs but also possess a wealth of knowledge about local culinary scene. They prepared for us the most delicious horse steak we have ever tasted, and it has become a frequent topic of conversation upon our return!
