Stayed for 5 nights in Junior Suite. It's a pretty old property with clear signs of aging but offers all basic amenities for a comfortable stay. viz. AC, Comfy bedsheet with clean linen, LCD TV, Mini fridge, writing desk & chair and a Sofa, 24 hrs hot shower and Bidet in toilet for Asian guests. Junior suite comes with 2 small rooms, the inner being the bedroom with AC while rest all amenities are in the other room. Rooms along the busy Tole Bi Street & Auezov Street are noisy, prefer those opening towards inner areas. Electric Kettle, Microwave and ironing board with iron are installed in the corridor at each floor. ||It's located at a convenient place, right on junction of Tole Bi Street+Auezov Street. Easy to explore the entire city & even Shymbulak by city buses. Bus stop in all 4 directions is less than 2 minutes away. But a Onay Card for bus & metro travel. Just 120 Tg for traveling any distance by bus or metro. Else pay 200 Tg cash to driver if not using card. Onay Card available at newspaper stalls by name Caravan. Easy to recharge at Kiosks. Small supermarket is just across the property to buy anything and everything reqd during the stay. A 5 liter water Jar of Small brand is available for just 375 Tg at this supermarket while 1 liter bottle sells at 350 Tg at other shops. Lots of Cafe's around. It's about 4-5 Kms fm the Golden Square City Centre of Zhibek Zholy Avenue, Panfilov Street & Arbat Street. But easily accessed by bus # 1 & 12 . Nearest indian restaurant is Tandoor, just 2 Kms away on Tole Bi Street. Nearest Bakery is right outside at Fort Vernyi Cafe where complimentary breakfast is served btwn 9-10 am. Breakfast is pretty disappointing in all respects, quality & quantity & variety. Rigid 1 hr timing is also weird. ||They offer 24 hrs Check-in Check-out instead of the 12-2 pm offered by most hotels here. This is very much useful for tourists. We had total 5 nights booking in 2 slots, 3 nights & rest 2 nights after a gap of 1 day. But our request to change this as 4 nights & 1 night was accepted by the front desk staff without any fuss. Appreciate this gesture. As reception team only understands Russian and Kazakh language, communication is a tough task & we have to depend on Google Translate App. Also, reception team doesn't assist with any tourist information or tour bookings for guests. ||In spite of all this, they offer aggressive rates where in you get a private room with all basic amenities at the cost of a hostel dormitory for 2. So overall a win-win deal if one can overlook the...
Read moreI like this hotel, I stayed there in March 2016 for three days. The shower has good pressure and hot water. The breakfast is really nice and the service lady brought a cup of tea, I askes her whether I could get a coffee instead of tea, she changed it in a short time. The front desk staffs are available 24 Hours, even they have difficulty in communication in English, but the nice smiles of them were very friendly and they were always ready to help you. The location is good and in the middle region of the city. There was a small Takeaway-Fastfood in front of this hotel(west side of thist hotel, cross the street), a couple of young family cooking delicious Kazakh warm food there, I like their Kazakh food. ||I would definitely stay there again, and they have a good price for short...
Read moreThe main advantage is the price - really cheap but you still get a hotel (not a hostel) layout with your own room and bathroom. However, the room I got smelled of stale cigarettes, soundproof is really bad and I could hear everything going on in the corridor, the furniture is really old, the bed linen didn't fit the bed, I had to ask separately for a duvet, the electric sockets were falling out of walls, no shower gel (only shampoo, soap and toothbrush), the overall feeling of dirtiness which is impossible to shake off (like long dark hairs sticking out of the bed). Another bright side - really fast wifi and...
