A wide range of crafts, specialty products, and famous goods scattered throughout vast Kenya are sold here in significant numbers. As this is a Craft Centre aimed at foreigners, it might indeed be a bit pricier compared to other markets. However, the opportunity to see such an array of products all at once is unparalleled. There are works of art by painters I've only seen here, and roasted coffee is also available for purchase. Additionally, the sales staff do not pressure you, allowing you to browse at your own pace, which is a positive aspect. The products have price tags, making it easy to understand without needing to negotiate prices.
I bought many products about 16,000 Ksh. Beyond just serving as a point of sale, this place offers an excellent opportunity to engage with Kenya's vast array of crafts.

Read moreUtamaduni Craft Centre is an absolute gem! I was initially hesitant when a friend suggested we visit, thinking I didn't need anything, but I was completely blown away. This place is a treasure trove of Kenyan artistry and craftsmanship. The sheer size and variety are astounding – each room is a themed wonderland! I was particularly impressed by the dedicated children's section, brimming with adorable and unique items. The belt and accessory room? Incredible! The selection was vast, and the quality was superb. And who could resist the fun Tusker-themed room? What truly sets Utamaduni apart is the combination of quality and price. I found so many beautiful, handcrafted pieces at unbelievably reasonable prices. My only regret is not having a bigger suitcase! The artwork alone is breathtaking, showcasing the immense talent of Kenyan artisans. This is a must-visit for anyone looking for authentic, high-quality...
Read moreMy friends and I LOVED this place. Went to a nearby shop first, and they had high prices that you had to try and haggle down. I inquired about some masks, and I could tell that the owner was making stuff up about what tribes they were from. Walked to Utamaduni and saw that everything was already priced and much cheaper. Asked about masks and they admitted that the masks are West African and said that Kenya doesn't do masks. A Kenyan friend corroborated this. Was so impressed by the honesty, low prices, no haggling and selection of items that we not only bought a decent about of stuff, we came back a second time a couple of days later to finish shopping. Do yourself a favor and go here for great prices and...
