We were initially skeptical about confinement centers in general, but we are so glad that we went with Guo Yi Tang Confinement Center. We found that our every need was well taken care of and it was indeed an all inclusive and much needed recovery for me, after having given birth to my son by C-section.

First of all, the facilities are amazing. The room was comfortable and well equipped - tables, chairs, private bathroom, stove, fridge, TV, washing machine and dryer, air conditioning and wifi. Cleaning of the room was done daily and bedsheets were changed weekly. There was a gym and swimming pool on the same floor and amenities within 10 minutes drive from the center - a mall, a supermarket, and many eateries.

For me, the confinement meals are well-balanced, tasty and healthy. The center adheres strictly to the applicable dietary and nutritional requirements that mommies need while in confinement. There are 5 meals a day with ample serving sizes - breakfast, lunch, tea snack, dinner and supper. The presentation of the food is good and there is a wide variety of dishes without frequent repetitions. The kitchen staff are meticulous in noting each mommy’s dietary requirements and restrictions. There is also an unlimited supply of teas (herbal tea, rice tea and lemongrass tea) that is provided by the confinement center. There is also a herbal bath provided daily, as well as weekly health reviews by a TCM trained physician (Dr Ng). The center has an affiliated TCM clinic from which medication or remedies can be prescribed if needed. During the first week of stay, a nurse would conduct a daily general check up to ensure that all mothers are in good health, which is especially important post-delivery.

We soon discovered that the greatest benefit in going to a confinement center is the freedom and flexibility that we have as parents in calling on the support of the dedicated team of nannies who are on standby 24-7 to assist us. The team is dedicated and very careful with the babies. They are well trained in all aspects of infant care including bathing, soothing and feeding. We really liked the fact that we can visit the nursery at any time to check on our son. In terms of feeding, the center is flexible with either providing the babies with formula milk or feeding them with expressed breast milk, which is stored and properly labeled in the nursery fridge. My breast pump was promptly sterilised after every use too. I don't know if i am imagining it but my son does seem pleased and happy whenever he is in the care of these nannies.

Overall, it has been an excellent experience at Guo Yi Tang Confinement Center. It is clear that this center is run by a team of well-trained professionals with a real heart for the mothers and babies in their care. I can say that they have delivered the best standard of care for me and my son and I would not hesitate to recommend them to my family...

One of the highlights is the food—five nourishing meals are provided daily, each carefully curated to suit the needs of postpartum mothers. The meals are not only delicious, but thoughtfully planned to promote healing and boost milk supply, using traditional confinement ingredients. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised to have lost 3–4kg in just 5 days here, thanks to the well-balanced and nutritious meals, along with the restful environment.

The nurses here are incredibly caring, professional, and experienced. They handle my newborn with such gentleness and expertise, which gives me tremendous peace of mind. Knowing that my baby is in safe hands allows me to focus fully on my recovery, both physically and emotionally.

In addition, Guo Yi Tang offers helpful lessons and guidance for new parents like myself. These sessions have taught us essential skills such as baby bathing, feeding, burping, and proper carrying techniques. As a first-time parent, I found these lessons extremely valuable and confidence-boosting.
