The service is still OK... however need to note this place was probably setup in the 90s and i doubt there is updates or renovation to the place. I visited the chalet...all the furnitures we bit old and suprisingly you can find dust on certain areas of furnitures, under the bed, celing, and the sliding door to the outer view of the windows/doors.

Room is OK and roomy. Aircond even its old still funtioning. But water heater system is the old type you have to switch it on 30mins earlier in order to use it. Plus point is there is 2 seperate shower cubicles. Fridge will switch off once you remove the card from its slot so I had to stuck another card to ensure items in fridge remains cool... (but some ice still manage to melt?)

View was OK with the greenery and monkey calls in the morning and the morning mist and weather is cool in a manageble way (no meed sweater).

But overall place not up to mordern standards...the bowling alley is closed "due to renovation" and so is the convention center..which I personally suspect management dont bother to maintain it as less and less people visit this place, they might rather go to Genting since its nearer. But if you do book this place you get complimentary passes to the Colmar, Rabbit Farm, Japanese Village and others FOC multiple times for a couple of days...which is...

Disappointing Facilities and Poorly Maintained Equipment

I had high expectations for Berjaya Hill Resort, but unfortunately, the experience was underwhelming due to the poor state of its facilities and equipment. The hotel’s amenities seem outdated, and many areas clearly lack proper maintenance.

The gym equipment was old and barely functional, with some machines completely out of order. The swimming pool looked like it hadn't been cleaned properly in a while, and the water was murky. Several lounge chairs were broken, making it difficult to relax.

The rooms were no better—air conditioning units were noisy and ineffective, making it hard to get a comfortable night's sleep. The bathroom fixtures were worn out, and in some areas, there were signs of poor plumbing maintenance, with weak water pressure and occasional leaks.

Additionally, some public areas, including the lobby and hallways, had dim lighting and an uninviting atmosphere. It’s clear that the resort is in dire need of upgrades and better upkeep. For the price paid, I expected much better. Unless improvements are made, I wouldn’t recommend...

I had a horrible stay. I don’t usually leave bad reviews, but this stay was very disappointing. The first room I was given had a broken kettle, a blocked toilet and a TV that didn’t work. The pool was obviously not cleaned, so I was unable to utilize this.

On the second day, the aircon stopped working as well. When I asked to move, the male front desk staff sent me to a room that was already occupied, then told me I should just go back to the broken aircon room instead of properly sorting it out.

The only positive was the housekeeping and maintenance staff. One male housekeeper in particular was outstanding — he immediately arranged for me to move to another room (the only option left was a suite), quickly cleaned it, and made sure I was comfortable. Maintenance also came in to check everything was working. These two staff members deserve real credit for stepping up, unlike the front desk.

Overall, poor management, very rundown facilities and an unhelpful reception ruined what could have been a...

This place has definitely seen better days because they've won some awards. The facilities and rooms are generally run down and not well kept. You see dead insects and lizards, and overgrown grass and weed in the common areas. Room and toilet were moldy, smelled weird and not very clean. Curtains and chairs looked like they hadn't been cleaned for years and look very old fashioned. They need to install more lighting in the room too. The dim light is depressing. The saving grace was at least the complimentary breakfast was good enough and the staff at the buffet line was friendly and helpful. Generally the staff are good, but too bad, the management has failed in running this place.
