This strange ghost town was a chance find whilst walking from St Julian’s out to St Paul’s - blocks of partially boarded up flats and houses, festooned with graffiti and colourful artwork.
I looked it up afterward; apparently this place started out life as British army married officers’ quarters before going through various uses as holiday accommodation. As so often follows, it’s ended up in development hell ever since with various plans for villas and hotels.
I liked it as it was. A bit of urban decay has a certain charm sometimes. Interesting artwork surrounded by lovely views of the sea.
The local youth certainly seemed to like it. We saw many making use. Also what appeared to be an impromptu cricket game in occurrence at one point and numerous runners.
Maybe plan your visit here in advance. I don’t think I’d go at night; such places take on a different mood when the sun goes down.

The ruins always take me back and after that I never really left Malta. I've been coming here every year several times, owned and sold an incredible appartement. Also I've been diving all around Malta and Gozo and became an Padi instructor here.
