Don't go to the Shangrila Hotel gate which is close by. The guards will not let you in. It is for hotel guests. For the public, go to Pointe Maurice gate and they will allow your car to enter and park your car for free. Walk tk the end of the car park and towards the left is the jetty where you can take the ferry boat to Ile Aux Cerf at 450R return. When you arrive at the jetty on the island, someone will take you to the Sand Bar to make the payment. After payment, you will be given a drink and you can choose your sunbed for free. Lunch is available at 12.30pm though the price is higher than at the town. Check with them on the return ferry time schedule. Good for a swim. There are showers and toilets. No hassle at all, worth the trip.

We went by boat to Ile Aux Cerfs from here. You can park the car very closeby. Don't let the gate/barrier scare you, the security guy at the barrier will gladly explain what you have to do. We paid 900 MRU (around €19) for the two of us for a return boat ticket, 2 beach chairs and 2 welcome drinks. There probably are cheaper options, but this was a worry-free option with fixed times of return (every 30 mins until 5PM I believe). Once you get there, there'll be some people trying to sell you boat rides, do as you please. On the island, there are free public toilets, a few restaurants and a long coastline which you can stroll around. Glad we made the trip!
